Today, Butler Tech’s future pilots at the Aviation Center had the opportunity to hear from Maj. Gen. John C. Harris, Jr. (U.S. Army, retired), Director of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services.
General Harris began his military career in 1981 as an enlisted helicopter repairer with the Ohio Army National Guard and went on to become a Senior Army Aviator, aviation company commander and, ultimately, the Adjutant General of Ohio.
His visit gave our students the chance to learn from a leader whose career demonstrates just how many places a passion for aviation, technical skill and leadership can take you.
Thank you, General Harris, for spending time with our students, sharing your experiences and helping inspire the next generation of aviation professionals!

Modern manufacturing is creating big opportunities — and Ohio is at the center of it.
More than 150 middle and high school students from Butler, Hamilton and Warren counties explored the technology, skills and careers shaping the industry during Manufacturing Day at the Advanced Manufacturing Workforce and Innovation Hub at Miami University Polytechnic.
With hands-on demonstrations and conversations with more than 15 industry partners, students got an up-close look at what today’s advanced manufacturing careers really look like.
This is career exploration in action — connecting students directly with the industries and opportunities shaping our region.

At the School of the Arts (Butler Tech) Career Fair, students did more than explore what comes next — they put their professional skills to work.
From elevator pitches and employer conversations to college connections, shadow opportunities and even job offers, students turned preparation into real-world experience.

A national spotlight on the Butler Tech story.
Last week, cameras rolled at Butler Tech as our students, adult students and staff took part in filming for an upcoming educational documentary.
While filming took place at our Bioscience Center, the story being captured reaches across Butler Tech — highlighting the hands-on learning, real-world experiences and career preparation happening throughout our district.
We're excited for the opportunity to share a glimpse of Butler Tech with a national audience and showcase the people and experiences that make our story .
Documentary narrated by Meg Ryan will include pieces filmed at Butler Tech Bisociences Center Some of the many budding young career stories taking shape at Butler Tech’s Bioscience Center and other career programs will soon be part of a documentary to be narrated by Hollywood movie actress Meg Ryan.
