We’re proud to celebrate Southeastern alumna, Dr. Muriel Thibodeaux, Ed.D. ’93 & ’03, Walker High School graduate and Livingston Parish resident, who was recently featured in the Livingston Parish News for her inspiring work as an educator and author.

Muriel is the creator of Clara Viaja por Sudamérica: ¿Quién es el chico?, the first book in her Clara Viaja™ educational series. Drawing on more than 25 years of teaching experience, she designed the interactive Spanish reader to help students build confidence through storytelling, cultural exploration, and meaningful communication.

Her work reflects her passion for helping students experience language learning as a journey of curiosity, connection, and confidence, opening doors to new cultures and opportunities.

We’re proud to see Muriel continuing to make a lasting impact in education and beyond. Congratulations, Muriel! We’re proud to call you a Lion!

Once a Lion, always a Lion!

We are thrilled to celebrate Southeastern alumna Bridget Zeringue ’15, who was recently named Louisiana Middle School Teacher of the Year!

Bridget earned her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music Performance from Southeastern in 2015 and has gone on to make an incredible impact as a music educator, choral clinician, and arts advocate at Mathematics, Science, and Arts Academy East in St. Gabriel, Louisiana.

As an educator, Bridget has built a comprehensive K–12 vocal music program centered on musical excellence, student leadership, and creative expression. Her students regularly participate in District, Regional, and State Honor Choirs, music festivals, and a variety of performance opportunities. She also shares her expertise beyond her own classroom, serving as a guest conductor and clinician for honor choirs and ensembles.

Her commitment to the arts extends throughout her community. Bridget has helped lead districtwide efforts to strengthen arts education, including professional development initiatives and planning for Iberville Parish’s inaugural District Arts Festival. She also serves as Vice President of The sNoBalls, a nonprofit organization providing scholarships for students to attend summer arts programs.

Through her dedication to her students, fellow educators, and the arts, Bridget is helping ensure that every student has the opportunity to find their voice, discover their talents, and experience the joy of music.

We couldn't be prouder to see one of our Lions making such a meaningful difference in the lives of students and in the future of arts education in Louisiana. Congratulations, Bridget, on this well-deserved honor! We are so proud of you!

Lion Pride is shining bright in St. Tammany Parish!

Huge congratulations to Southeastern Louisiana University graduate T. Paul Davis on his appointment to the St. Tammany Health System Board of Commissioners!

Paul earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Southeastern before becoming a prominent Northshore business leader, currently serving as President of Parish Concrete. He is stepping into this vital community leadership role to replace his father, Thomas D. Davis, who recently stepped down after 20 extraordinary years of service.
