We’ll be CLOSED this Saturday, Sept. 26 while Bill and I sneak away for a little field trip to the Maryland Microbrew Festival at Union Mills Homestead. 🍻

Happy Autumn Equinox.

Well, apparently today we're doing feelings. 🖤

I've received so many hugs. Friends stopped in, brought me some Inner F*cking Peace, committed some light vandalism on my chalkboard and generally reminded me that I have some really good folks in my life.

And then I started looking around this place and, well... apparently I've also built a store for all the feels. 🙃

Whether you want to work through your stuff or avoid it, we've got you covered. Candles, books, journals, giant cookies and assorted questionable coping mechanisms abound.

Grateful for all of you. 🖤

Update: I made it.
I put on my pants and claimed a new hat.

I seriously can't thank you guys enough for yesterday. Every review, comment, private message and bit of support truly meant the world to me. 🖤 I feel a whole lot less alone today than I did yesterday.

Unfortunately, the situation didn't end with that review, and I'm having a hard time getting my s**t together this morning.

I've talked openly about living with CPTSD before, and this is what it can look like sometimes. When conflict like this happens, my brain goes straight into survival mode. Hypervigilance kicks in and suddenly I'm just anticipating the next thing that will happen. Especially when they keep happening instead of just letting it go 😕

So here we are. It's after 9, I'm still sitting in my dark bedroom in pajamas.

I'm giving myself a little grace this morning and the studio will be opening late today. I'm thinking 11ish.

Seriously, thank you guys. Yesterday meant more than you know. 🖤

Whelp... I really didn’t want to bring my neighbor drama to my business page, but apparently they had other plans. 🙃
Some context for the shiny new “doesn’t recommend” review:
That is my new next-door neighbor. He has never been a customer. I’ve actually never interacted with him. This has absolutely nothing to do with Cultivated Essentials.
There’s a whole lot more to this story than what’s written in that review, and I’m not dragging an entire private neighbor dispute onto my business page to defend myself.

We’ve had ongoing issues with property boundaries since they moved in. I avoided addressing things directly because I’d already seen how they handled conflict with other neighbors, and frankly, I wanted no part of it.
Last week, after his wife flipped me off from her property, I went outside and confronted her. Things got heated.

Was I frustrated? Yep. Did I use curse words in sentences? Yep. If you’ve met me, that probably isn’t shocking. 😂 And yes, at the end, I called her a c*nt. 👀🤷🏻‍♀️ I said it. I haven’t pretended I didn’t.

That was the one and only altercation I’ve ever had with these people. It was almost a week ago.

And now our private residential dispute has been brought directly to my business page and used to tell people not to support my livelihood.

I would never take a personal dispute to someone’s workplace or business. I just want my neighbors to leave me, my property and my business alone.

So if you’ve actually been here—made candles, shopped with our vendors, attended an event, whatever—and had a positive experience but never left a review, I could really use your help right now. 🖤
