Max came in tonight for a broken toe nail. While fixing up his hurt toe we trimmed up the rest of his nails. He was the bestest boy the entire visit!

Dewey and his big puppy dog eyes will get you every time! This handsome guy has a history of chewing on things he isn’t supposed to like rocks so when Dewey’s mom noticed he wasn’t eating and was vomiting she acted fast! She gave us a call concerned he might have a foreign body stuck.

Dewey spent the day with us for a barium study with X-rays and a urinalysis. Turns out just a little gastritis and a urinary track infection. Anti-nausea and some antibiotics, Dewey will be back to himself in no time!

Have you ever seen a quieter group of 9 shepherd puppies? They were such good little boys and girls last night for their first round of vaccines. You wouldn’t even know they were in the hospital if you didn’t walk past their door.

Our tiniest patient of the day! Sweet little girl is struggling with her bowel movements but hopefully she is on the mend now!

We’re sure by now most have seen the flier going around. Yes a confirmed case of rabies was detected right down the road. Not only is it our policy that every animal we see be current on rabies vaccination but it is the Pennsylvania state law. Keeping them current on the vaccine keeps them safe from wild animals as well as the community safe.

Itty bitty Davidson first came to visit us Tuesday afternoon for a recheck after needing a blood transfusion at the ER over the weekend. Little guy is only 11 weeks old and 2.6 pounds! He came back this morning for another recheck and doing wonderful. His numbers are improving and doing well at home! Keep up the good work little guy 💕🐾

Introducing Dr. Walker, formally Dr. Friedland if you didn’t see that post.

Dr. Walker opened Paws Animal Hospital in 2010 as a small one doctor practice on Baltimore Street. Over the years business grew, hired more doctors and staff, branched out and opened Paws In Balance (ran in the same building) to accommodate her acupuncture and Chinese medicine!

Dr. Walker attended undergrad at Mount Holyoke and did her veterinarian medical school at Virginia Tech. She did 5 years of veterinary technician work before becoming a doctor. At home she a selection of small breed dogs as well as indoor and outdoor cats. In her free time that is reserved for family, friends, traveling, reading, antiques and art.

I could gush about the amazing person Dr. Walker is for hours but I’ll leave it with it’s been an honor and privilege to learn these fun facts about our leading lady to share with all of you! Most exciting fact is Dr. Walker has been a practicing doctor doctor for 21 years now! Congratulations on such a milestone achievement!! 🎉🎉🎉

We’re so excited to announce after many many training classes we’re now offering abdominal ultrasounds in office!

Jessi will preform the ultrasounds in office and submit the findings to a board of certified radiologist for review. For this procedure Dr. Walker is seeing non client patients and will forward all test results to your current veterinarian.
