Keystone Conference UCC

The Keystone Conference is launching a new annual offering focused on giving thanks for those of importance and inspiration in our lives. The All Saint’s Offering collects donations from individuals, families, or churches to honor or remember someone of importance in their lives. Perhaps a church wants to honor their current pastor? Or an individual remember their grandmother (a saint!). However, you approach it the Keystone Conference will collect the names and share them weekly through the Keystone Connection in October and November. Further, a portion of all gifts will be used for direct ministerial assistance. Please give freely and gratefully!

This offering is a new project of the Keystone Conference and replaces any offerings historic conferences may have had for All Saint's Day. Link in the comments!

As our new conference comes together, we take a moment each week to pray for 10 of our churches. We give thanks for the work they do in their communities, and we rejoice in our connection with each other.

TECM Carrie Call and RCM Nora Driver Foust met with the faithful members of Jacob's chuch in Paxinos Sunday afternoon. The church is discerning their future and ministry. Founded in 1822 the church has been a steady and faithful presence "on the hill." We celebrate their witness and pray for them as they discern their next steps. (Church member Jenny is ringing the bell - her ancestors founded the church and are buried in the graveyard!)

Mt. Zion UCC in York celebrated their 175th anniversary today. TRCM Kevin McLemore brought the sermon but the highlights were the return of two former pastors and a homecoming for many in the pres. Pastor Amy Northridge leads this welcoming and active congregation. Happy anniversary, Mt. Zion!

Transitional Executive Conference Minister Carrie Call joined New Covenant UCC in Williamsport to celebrate their 50th anniversary! Fifty years ago two congregations came together in partnership and love to create a community-based church of servants of Christ. Rev. Brad Wolmer continues this thriving ministry today! Former community outreach pastor Rev. John Charnock brought the sermon. Liturgical dancers, choirs, soloists, communion, and a proclamation from the Pennsylvania state legislature made for a beautiful service. Congratualtions New Covenant!

Many thanks to the Rev. Paul Sarver and the people of First Trinity UCC in Youngwood for hosting the Westmoreland Association Fall Meeting today. Westmoreland became the third of the historic PWC Associations this year to unanimously opt in to the Allegheny Association!

First Reformed UCC in Berwick welcomed TRCM Nora for World Communion Sunday worship followed by a brunch and meeting.

Congratulations to the Rev. Wayne Sautter, as today at Christ UCC, Latrobe, we celebrated his 50th ordination anniversary!

TRCM Kevin McLemore met with the leadership UCC Homes at the Lebanon Valley Home this afternoon. These three women have a total of 56 years of experience supporting our aging saints. I appreciate my tour of Kindred Place as well, with their amazing model for keeping folks as independent as possible. Thanks for the tour and time!
