π Future Ready Youth in Action! π
This summer, participants in our Summer Youth Employment Learning Program (SYELP) are gaining hands-on experience, building workplace skills, and exploring future career opportunities, all while earning a paycheck.
We're proud to showcase our interns making an impact across Connecticut:
π CAST Children's Theatre through the Town of East Hartford, working behind the scenes in the costumes department and helping bring productions to life.
π Wise Guys Scissor Society through Our Piece of the Pie (OPP), gaining exposure to customer service, business operations, and the barbering industry.
π₯€ Avery's Beverages through OIC of New Britain, learning about local business operations and the beverage production industry.
π½οΈ Mi Sabor Dominican Restaurant through the Center for Latino Progress, building workplace experience in hospitality and customer service.
These experiences are helping young people develop the skills employers value most, including communication, teamwork, professionalism, problem-solving, and responsibility.

From caring for the environment at the Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center in Wethersfield through the Town of Wethersfield, to learning customer service and entrepreneurship at Royal Mane Hair Studio in Bloomfield through the Bloomfield Youth Services Bureau, to hands-on training with the Hartford Fire Department through ReadyCT, our interns are exploring career pathways and discovering what's possible for their future.
