Bay Area Court Reporters

Our local courthouse has been using Liberty Audiorecording instead of Court Reporters. Most judges turn it off when we are privately hired to report in their courtroom. But one judge records everything!
I reported and included every false start, every little eh-ah-oh, everything I said, and a very verbatim record of the Court, too.
We know our equipment captures more than theirs does, but I purchased the Liberty Audio anyway, just curious to hear what it missed. I paid, they took my money, my transcript has gone out, but still no CD (really?) from them has arrived.
I encourage all CSRs to stroke in what you’ve said and not use “Reporter Clarification”; our words are more important now than they’ve ever been. Our Cert Page now includes a clause denouncing any other transcript as a “rough draft” if our live CSR created the official record while Liberty was running (Clerks do love the backup).
Anyone can buy the audio, but whose transcript will prevail? Maybe Liberty has a repository into which I should upload my Original, or maybe the A.I. bots are already in there running Dragon and selling “copies”!

Our local courthouse is finally adjudicating Covid Moratorium tenants who stayed much longer than their free rent allowed. This is lunchtime and the morning trickle-down to afternoon. Our Family Law departments have no more Court Reporters and lots of new Clerks who literally whisper to their Judge while we are on the record, who listen to Liberty Audio on breaks to catch what these fast-paced judges have said, and who create Minute Orders ready online the next business day. Hello, Miss Clerk, talk to me!! We used to be a team. I cannot record whispers, neither can Liberty.

Another great convention, Ventura Beach, we had a great time building our raffle baskets and we loved hearing stories from the winners! Thanks, DRA, for all you do for us

Thanks HP for the printer which lasted 22 years, we dropped it off at the printer graveyard, reminsced about all we’ve been through, and told its replacement it has some big shoes to fill💋
