California Crosspoint Academy

There's something special about watching students take the lead in worship.

At See You at the Pole this week, our high schoolers gathered staff and classmates around the flagpole to sing, pray, and remind us of what matters most. There is a God in heaven who loves us and sent His Son, Jesus. In Him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28)

We're so proud of these young leaders and grateful for the way they encouraged all of us to keep the faith. Parents, thank you for raising students with hearts like this.

Business Club, Basketball, Aerospace & Aviation, and more!

Our high school students have plenty of ways to get involved beyond the classroom this year. To recruit new members, our student club leaders gave presentations on the clubs they lead, sharing why they care about them and what they want to accomplish this year.

It was a great reminder that leadership at CCA isn't something we just teach. Our students are already doing it themselves with the things they are passionate about.

Parents, ask your high schooler which club caught their eye!

Save the date! Preview Day at California Crosspoint Academy is Saturday, October 10, from 9am to noon.

If you're thinking about schools for next year, or you're just curious about CCA, spend the morning with us. You'll meet our administrators and teachers, hear from current students, and take a personal guided tour of campus. Bring your questions and your kids. And if a friend has been asking around about schools, bring them too.

Back to School Night is one of our favorite nights of the year, and this one did not disappoint.

Our teachers came in early to set up their rooms and most of them were still here well after the last session ended, talking with parents in hallways and doorways.

That is the whole point of an evening like this. It's not just about a rundown of the syllabus, but the start of a working relationship between the adults in a student's life. When a teacher and a parent actually know each other, a small problem in October gets handled in October instead of becoming a February problem.

To the families who rearranged dinner, traffic, and work schedules to be here: thank you. To our teachers and staff who gave the night everything: we noticed, and so did the parents.

If you could not make it, your child's teachers would still welcome the conversation. Reach out any time and they will find a window.

California Crosspoint Academy would not be who we are today without our drama instructor, Mr. AJ Harris.

Recently he traveled with a group of our 11th and 12th grade drama students to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. The festival is in its 91st season this year, running ten productions in rotating repertory across three stages, which means our students watched professional companies do in one weekend what most people never see in a lifetime of theatre-going.

We suspect the conversations on the drive home were worth as much as the performances.

To every parent who signed the permission form and every student who went: thank you for saying yes to something bigger than a classroom.

This past week, a group from our administration, counseling, and support staff attended the University of California High School Counselor Conference in Sacramento. UC hosts these across the state each fall, and the Northern California session was held at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center.

The agenda covered current admission policy, guidance on how applications are reviewed, and updates on financial aid. Our team took notes for your students.

We say often that CCA's ministry has always been people rather than programs or facilities. This is one of the quieter ways that shows up. Sending a full team to a conference costs time and money, and we do it because a parent should not have to hire an outside consultant to find out what UC expects. That is our job, and we want to do it well.

If you are a current family, your student's counselor is ready to talk. If you are exploring CCA for the first time, we would love to show you around and introduce you to the people who will be walking alongside your child.

Touring schools this fall? Put Saturday, October 10 on your calendar.

CCA's Preview Day runs from 9 am to 12 pm, and it's the easiest way to see what a day here actually looks like. Tours are led by our administrators, teachers, and students, so you can ask the questions that matter to you and hear honest answers from the people who live it every day.

A few things families usually ask about: our two National Blue Ribbon awards (2003 and 2016), being named a Top 5 Faith-Based School by Parents' Press, and how we pair rigorous academics with a Christ-centered community where kids are known by name. Come see it for yourself.

Election time at CCA! Our high school students are voting for their student council and student body president.

Before ballots opened, each candidate gave a speech to their classmates. We heard thoughtful ideas and real vision for the year ahead, and what stood out most was how many of them talked about bringing people together. That's the kind of servant leadership we pray to see in our students.

To every candidate: well done. It takes courage to stand up there. We expect a close race and look forward to celebrating whoever comes out on top.

Twin Day at CCA, and our staff went all in.

Teachers coordinating with each other. Students showing up dressed like their teachers! It was a fun and hilarious time!

"My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding." Colossians 2:2 🕊️

We're grateful for the way God keeps knitting this community together.
