🍀 4-H Was at Helotes Elementary! 🍀

Our 4-H’ers had a wonderful time at Helotes Elementary’s Open House, where our officers welcomed families, shared information about 4-H, and talked about all the exciting opportunities available for youth.

From livestock and photography to robotics, leadership, cooking, H&S, and so much more, there’s something for every child in 4-H!

We loved meeting so many new families and hope you’ll join us at our 4-H Open House this Saturday to learn more, meet our members, and discover how your child can grow through 4-H.

🍀 Join us for the Helotes 4-H Open House & Registration to learn about the many opportunities available for youth in 3rd grade and up, including archery, dog training, wildlife, public speaking, vet science, shooting sports, and more! Families with children in K–2nd grade can also learn about our Clover Club program for younger members. Meet club members, ask questions, and find the perfect fit for your child!

We see some familiar faces!

Consumer Decision Making is a 4‑H competitive event that teaches youth how to be smart, informed consumers. Participants evaluate groups of similar products (called “classes”) based on a real‑life buying situation, rank them from best to worst, and make decisions using facts such as price, quality, and usefulness.

The contest focuses on developing skills in critical thinking, comparison, financial literacy, and decision-making, helping youth learn how to make confident, fact‑based purchasing decisions they can apply in everyday life.

On behalf of AgriLife Bexar County, we want to congratulate 2 of our 4-H Volunteers Gary & Madelyn Schott! Both have dedicated over 35 years to empowering 4-H youth and strengthening their Helotes community. Their incredible service was honored with the **2026 Texas 4-H Salute to Excellence Leader Legacy Award**, and they’ll be recognized at the state level during Texas 4-H Roundup. Gary & Madelyn, thank you for all that you've done!

Friday we celebrated our all-club 4H End-of-Year Party! 💚🍀

We said goodbye to our seniors, recognized them for their hard work and dedication, and introduced our new club officers for the upcoming year.

A special congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Schott for being named the 2026 Texas 4H Salute to Excellence Winners! 🏆 We are so proud of this well-deserved honor and look forward to celebrating when they receive their official award next month.
