It's that time of year again everyone. Our National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, October 6th on the parking lot of Spring Hills Church. Several of your area First Responders (Police, Fire, EMS, Dispatch) will be there along local organizations like Open Door Animal Sanctuary, Gods Grace Animal Rescue, Compass Health Network, and more. We will have face painting, a balloon artist, a petting zoo, and a bounce house. There will be raffle baskets to bid on as we begin raising money for our Shop With a Hero program. Come out and meet some new people in your community and get to know your first responders. We hope to see you all there. Chief Frank.

🎀 High Ridge Fire Protection District — Breast Cancer Awareness Shirts

Every October, our crews trade their usual uniform shirts for pink shirts in support of breast cancer awareness. This year, you can wear one with us.

High Ridge Firefighters Community Outreach is selling limited-run breast cancer awareness T-shirts featuring our “Together We Fight” design. Proceeds benefit Gateway to Hope, a breast cancer lifeline that helps remove barriers to affordable, timely, quality breast healthcare through patient navigation, financial assistance, and community-centered support.

Gateway to Hope serves Jefferson County, making them a meaningful choice for this effort. Your support helps our neighbors access the care, resources, and assistance they need while navigating breast health concerns or a breast cancer diagnosis.

Breast cancer touches nearly every neighborhood we serve. Together, we can turn awareness into action and put real dollars behind the fight—close to home. 💗

Last night, at approximately 10:50 PM, High Ridge Firefighters were dispatched to a confined-space rescue in the 300 block of Emerson Road. The 911 caller reported hearing someone calling for help from a storm sewer near that address.

When personnel arrived, rescuers were able to locate a male victim who had fallen through a stormwater manhole and was lying injured approximately 25 feet below ground. Rescuers entered the stormwater system, secured the patient with a basket-and-rope system, and successfully removed him from the pipe. He was ultimately transported to the hospital for treatment.

We want to thank Fenton Fire Protection District for their assistance in effecting the rescue, and North Jefferson County Ambulance District and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for their assistance at the scene. This was a challenging and unique rescue scenario, but teamwork and training resulted in a safe and successful operation.

Today, we pause to remember the lives taken on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

A big thank you to Tactical Judo Solutions for providing three outstanding training sessions for our crews!

A large portion of the training focused on immobilization techniques for the confined environment of an ambulance, addressing both responder self-defense and the prevention of patient self-harm. These practical skills give our crews additional tools to safely manage challenging situations while protecting themselves and their patients.

We appreciate Tactical Judo Solutions for helping us continue to train, improve, and be better prepared for the situations our firefighters and paramedics may face.

The High Ridge Firefighters Community Outreach would like to thank all the teams and sponsors that participated in the 26th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament for BackStoppers. With the support of our community we were able to raise $11,000.00 for BackStoppers. Thanks again for your continued support and we will see you next year.

🔹 FIRE INSPECTOR — Full-time
This position handles fire safety inspections of businesses, schools, and care facilities across the District, as well as fire code enforcement, plan review, and public fire prevention education. Monday through Friday.

🔹 RECEPTIONIST — Part-time
Reception, clerical support, and helping residents who call or stop in with questions. Weekday mornings, 10am to 2pm.

Both positions close September 25.
