👶 Your next ergonomics coach might be 2 years old.
Toddlers squat like pros.
They move naturally.
And they definitely haven’t taken an ergonomics course. 😄
So… what do they know that we’ve forgotten?
This Thursday, October 1st, join Alex Smith and Melody Schell for Babies & Body Mechanics, a fresh look at natural movement, workplace ergonomics, and injury prevention:
https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/6417879342967/WN_zkGFY9B4Rw-_L_DFP23A8Q
We’ll dig into:
- The cost of “Living in the Valley”
- What makes toddlers so mechanically efficient
- Why lasting behavior change takes more than simply telling someone how to move
- How AI-powered technology can help workers relearn safer movement patterns
It might change the way you look at ergonomics.

Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Babies and Body Mechanics: What Toddlers Can Teach Us About Ergonomics. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar. What if some of the best lessons in industrial ergonomics could be learned from a toddler? Young children naturally squat, keep loads close, maintain balance, and adapt their bodies to the task. As adults, those efficient movement patterns can be replaced by shortcuts and habits that contribute to m...

We’re proud to share the results of our ergonomics pilot program with dormakaba 💙.
At , Kristin Jarrett shared how DORN ergonomists worked directly with dormakaba employees to turn AI-powered risk insights into practical changes in how people move and work
The results 👏 :
- 21–90% risk reduction across evaluated tasks
- 49% average reduction in ergonomic risk
- 52% average reduction in low-back compression
- Improved power-zone positioning and postural movement
Technology can measure risk. Combining those insights with hands-on ergonomics expertise helps turn them into meaningful change.
Thank you to dormakaba, Kristin, the participating employees, and the National Safety Council for making this work possible. 💙
Work shouldn’t leave people hurting at the end of the day.
Too often, we ask the person to adapt: Lift differently. Stretch more. Be more careful. Tough it out.
But sometimes preventing an injury starts with something much simpler: listening to the person doing the work and asking, “How could we make this better?” 🤔
Better tools. Better processes. Better workstations. Better job design.
That’s ergonomics at its best: designing work that works for people. 💙
Missed our webinar on AI and ergonomics with Alex Smith and Melody Schell?
Here’s a quick snippet from the conversation and one result worth noting: a 66% reduction in ergonomic risk in just 90 days.
We shared how an AI-powered ergonomics approach helped our client identify and address ergonomic risks faster, achieve measurable results in just three months, and even win an internal ergonomics award. 🏆

As we remember this day, 25 years ago, let's pause to reflect. On that fateful morning, 246 souls readied for their flights, 2,606 headed to work, 343 brave firefighters geared up for their shift, 60 dedicated police officers began their patrol, and 8 paramedics prepared for their duty. None of them saw past 10:00 a.m., September 11, 2001.
In a single moment, life can change forever. Today, as you savor each breath, as you lay down to rest and rise to face tomorrow's uncertainties, remember to hold your loved ones close, hug a little tighter, and cherish every second of this precious gift we call life. ❤️
Tomorrow is never guaranteed. Let's make the most of today.
