Brand strategy + identity design for Jewish education, camps & outreach organizations
Clarity → a brand your org can run on

If you followed all three steps, congratulations. Your mission statement needs a glossary and your website could swap logos with the organization down the street.

Nobody warns you how odd it feels to be the target audience for a message and still need it translated. This one was written for parents like me, and I was doing the mental math on which Hebrew word meant what.

I write content for an outreach camp I work with, and the audience changes with every post. Donors get one set of words, families get another, and parents hear things differently than campers do. I'm very careful about which phrases go where.

Please be careful with what you write for your organization 🙏

You're treating your own Jewish school like a commodity, and it shows.

In a place like South Florida, Jewish schools stay full without trying. Families show up either way, so a school doesn't have to work to stand out.

That's exactly why so many schools never bother getting specific about who they're for or what makes them different.

But not having to differentiate isn't the same as not needing to. Schools should still be doing this work. Clarity now builds a stronger, more intentional school later, not just a full one.

I never met or spoke with Monika before designing her brand.

The brand strategy session happened first, run separately, documented in full. Identity pillars, voice, values, all of it written down before I ever opened a design file. I worked from that document alone.

That's the actual power of a strategy session done right. It's specific enough that someone else could pick it up and build from it accurately, without ever sitting in the room.

Ready for that kind of clarity for your organization? Scedule a call and we can talk about it.

Every strategy session starts the same way: an organization thinks it already knows what it stands for.

Most of the time, what actually comes up is a mix. Real belief, tangled up with what leadership thinks it's supposed to believe, borrowed from whatever's normal in the space or whatever's already been done. Untangling that is most of the work.

Once the real version surfaces, everything after it gets easier to build. Especially the design.

The pattern I see over and over: someone emails asking for a logo, and what they actually need is buried underneath that ask.

Pre-launch - it's clarity on what the school even stands for before there's anything to visualize.
Already running something - it's the same clarity, just buried under years of doing things without ever writing them down.

The logo is never the only thing needed.

You're not actually calling me for a logo. You just don't know that yet.

On a first call, most people can't tell me much more than that they want something better than what they have. If a school or program doesn't exist yet, the goal is turning a vision into something visual, so you can advertise and show donors something real. If the organization already exists, it's about looking legit enough to grow into the next stage.

Either way, most people picture the design half of branding. They don't picture the strategy session, where you find out how unclear everything actually was, values, decisions, hires, audience, and how much clarity comes out of it.

Strategy first. Then design. Always.

My husband and I are treating a concept school as real. Partly so I can run my process on something specific to this niche, partly so I have an actual school project to show future clients. And who knows, maybe one day he builds this for real.

I've spent this week saying you don't need a Jewish star or Torah scroll in a Jewish logo. So this is me challenging myself to actually prove it. I don't know yet what that looks like.

Step one is always the same. A real brand strategy session first, digging into what this school believes before any visual decision happens.

Genuinely curious what I come up with.

All those ADHD and mental health educators who helped me understand myself, that's what changed my life.

I'm a designer, not a therapist. I can't do that work directly. But I can build brands for the people who do. So that the right person finds them in the right moment.
