Back in July, I submitted my application to get fully licensed as a marriage and family therapist (MFT). I finally heard back that I was approved to now take my clinical exam (the last hurdle before becoming fully licensed).
With full transparency, I am attempting to raise money to pay for my LMFT clinical exam study program ($375). If I raise money beyond that amount, it will go towards making it possible for me to continue to offer low-fee/pro bono therapy to individuals in California.
If you’d like to donate to shred one of your negative thoughts, I’ll shred one for you! I’ll also pick random comments to shred too, so don’t feel pressured to donate if you are unable to. I just wanted to do something for fun. I saw this idea randomly on TikTok (I don’t know the user, but happy to tag them if you know who the originator of this idea was).

A couple of weeks ago we hosted the second ever Q***r Prom for the trans adult community and its allies. I was moved by how many people attended and how many disclosed to me that it was their first time attending prom ever.
Like any event I host, I look for wallflowers like myself who are shy or might not know anyone there. I introduce myself and bring them to the media walls to get their photos taken, I introduce them to to be interviewed and tell her to take good care of them (which she always does), and I see the way my friends welcome these new faces into the group photos and conversations throughout the night.
I’ve been in the industry for nearly 15 years and similarly, I’ve been graciously included by soon-to-be friends at events where I didn’t know anyone.
I love my friends. I love what we’ve created.
