Cavondre Akens has been sentenced to more than 14 years in federal prison. Akens is one of two men who used Facebook Marketplace ads to lure dozens of victims to their apartment complex to rob them. They would carjack their unsuspecting victims, kidnap them, and take them to an ATM where they were forced to withdraw money at gunpoint.
Akens' cohort Anthony Anderson was sentenced last month to six years in federal prison.

Perry Bernard Green now faces federal kidnapping and carjacking charges after allegedly attacking a woman with a knife inside a Texas Medical Center garage on May 11, 2026.

Gertrude "Trudy" Thompson has just been arrested by FBI Houston civil rights agents on new federal charges related to the firebombing of the Buddhist Temple in New Caney, TX on November 5, 2023!

Trudy Thompson joins her daughter, Kayla Thompson, and Austin Tanton in being charged with conspiracy to commit arson, use of an explosive to commit a federal felony, and arson.
