There is no timetable on pain!! Just give us a call NOW and BELIEVE WE CARE. There is no timetable on pain!!!! Just give us a call and believe we care.

We offer treatment for all levels of Substance Use Disorders, utilizing the ground-breaking innovations from Positive Psychology and added that to existing medical models. We are presently conducting in-person initial interviews and in-person IOP/PHP/Aftercare services that observe Covid-19 protocols. Zoom is available if it is medically necessary. We will listen because addiction takes no holidays and although there are only three days when staff are continuously at his location someone will answer the phone each and every day because we want to be able to help you when you are hurting. Today, we celebrate National Sober Day. ๐Ÿ’™

Sobriety is more than what you leave behind. It is about everything you have the opportunity to move toward: deeper connections, renewed purpose, meaningful moments, and a life you are proud to live.

At Positive Recovery Centers, we believe recovery is not simply about abstaining from drugs or alcohol. It is about discovering the strengths within yourself and building a life filled with meaning, purpose, and connection.

Whether you are celebrating years in recovery, taking it one day at a time, or wondering what a sober life could look like for you, today is a reminder that there is so much life ahead.

Football season is here, and with it come tailgates, watch parties, and weekends with friends. ๐Ÿˆ

For many college students, alcohol can feel like it is simply part of the experience. However, if you have started questioning your drinking, that thought may be worth listening to.

Maybe one drink keeps turning into more than you planned. Maybe drinking is affecting your classes, relationships, mental health, or the way you feel about yourself. Or maybe you are simply realizing that you want something different.

Choosing to rethink your relationship with alcohol does not mean giving up football season, friendships, or fun. It can mean making room for better choices, deeper connections, and a future you feel good about.

At Positive Recovery Centers, we believe recovery is about building a life filled with meaning, purpose, and connection.

If youโ€™re questioning your drinking or substance use, reaching out can be the first step toward change.

Today, as we remember the lives lost during the tragedy of 9/11 25 years ago, here is a reflective message from Dr. Jason Powers, Chief Medical Officer at Positive Recovery Centers on Post-Traumatic Growth.๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

I got sober in 2003, and I can still vividly remember exactly where I was and what I was thinking on September 11, 2001. I was watching Katie Couric deliver the news as a plane collided with the World Trade Center behind her left shoulder. My instinct when sober is to pray and meditate on the well-being of anyone hurt, but I was not sober.

I say the following not as a selfish catharsis but rather to illustrate how addiction causes one to dissociate from one's better self, one's values, and one's character. I also do so with no small amount of self-loathing and shame. Instead of concern for anybody affected, I was rather acutely aware of the direction all newsrooms would take and lamented the fact that the news would also be hijacked by this event.

Today, I practice a form of loving-kindness meditation where happiness and the root of happiness are intended, or wished for, for all sentient beings, as well as suffering and the root of suffering removed from all sentient beings. Obviously, the inclination I had was darkened by active addiction.

Today, I stand in amazement at the first responders who so selflessly gave of themselves for strangers who were the immediate victims of that horrific tragedy. September 11th is also a time for me to reflect on just how destructive addiction is. There is no small amount of gratitude I feel and extend towards all those who helped on my journey.

My wish is that you take care of yourselves and others and that one day all of the needless violence and hatred be removed, so we may all live together on this beautiful, life-giving planet in peace.

Overdose Awareness Day on August 31 and the start of National Recovery Month on September 1 feel meaningfully connected. Rather than separate moments, they remind us of the full continuum of recovery, honoring those we have lost while celebrating the possibility of healing, growth, resilience, and recovery. ๐Ÿ’œ

Megan Aylieff, Director of Development with The Council on Recovery, and Julie DeNofa, President of Positive Recovery, opened the evening with heartfelt remarks on the strength that comes when a community gathers in remembrance, connection, hope, and love.

Julie also spoke about Montgomery County Overdose Prevention Endeavor (M-COPE)'s four pillars: Awareness, Education, Prevention, and Remembrance, pillars that help communities learn, connect, support one another, and ensure those who have died are remembered with dignity. Kathy Posey and Paige Butler graciously shared their stories.

We also want to thank everyone at Sunwave Health for sponsoring this night and being a huge support in helping host events like this one. Their partnership has meant so much to this community, and we're grateful for their continued commitment to recovery.

As each person was honored along the Texas Memorial Walkway, we were reminded that every life represents a unique and meaningful story. Each was someone's son or daughter, sister or brother, parent, partner, or friend.

Among those remembered were people who loved to dance, play basketball, play guitar, and bring kindness and joy to those around them. They were whole people, never defined by a substance use disorder or the circumstances of their death.

Dr. Jason Powers, Chief Medical Officer of Positive Recovery, sat down with Dr. Andrew Krieger, CEO of Contemporary Medicine Associates, for a conversation grounded in both grief and hope, touching on the realities of overdose and the work still ahead.

As we move from Overdose Awareness into , may we carry these stories with us. Remembrance inspires compassion, connection strengthens our community, and hope reminds us that recovery is possible.

Together, we can create a community where people are seen for their humanity, supported through challenges, celebrated for their strengths, and given every opportunity to find a path toward healing and recovery.

You are stronger than your worst day. ๐Ÿ’ช

The days you are least proud of do not get to define the rest of your story. Recovery gives you the opportunity to keep moving forward, learn from what you have been through, and discover just how much strength you are capable of.

Some days will feel lighter than others. Some may require you to focus only on the next hour, the next choice, or the next right step. What matters is that you keep going.

Your past is part of your story, not the ending.

At Positive Recovery Centers, we believe there is always hope for what comes next, and we are here to support you as you build a life where you can flourish in recovery. ๐Ÿ’›
