My Fair Mahjong

Alright - I know there are some of you out there already making incredible progress on this effort. How close are you, you beautiful Mahjong-crazed friends??? And, can you please give us all advice on how you fit in that much mahjong. I think the rest of us are just jealous we can't fit in enough games to compete with you 🥰

Mahjong is multi-generational fun. It's phones down- no screens- real connection kind of fun. I am overjoyed when my daughter plays with me. And she beats me often... my only problem is not overly pressuring her because we talk a LOT of mahjong in our house and I don't want her to ever burn out.

If you haven't yet - get your kids going - start with simplified play (I started by modifying and removing card initially when she was about 5 - pungs kongs quint matching ... closer to Chinese / Hong Kong style of play... no card).

Where people gather... there always seems to be at least a little drama. And when you add in that little bit of competition (or a lot in some of your cases 😉), the drama can sneak in.

Now, I don't know about you... but generally I feel we have to let things go, not take ourselves too seriously, focus on the big picture, stay kind and remember we are in it for community and friendship. BUT, occassionally, I find a little bit of drama entertaining. No politics. No religion. No family drama, please. But mahjong rule keepers vs the relaxed folks... or the chatters vs the focusers... that friend that takes it a little toooo seriously... sometimes that drama makes me laugh. and Laughter is also what it's about for me! So long as we don't have hurt feelings and we keep it light!
