📢 Massachusetts SNAP/EBT Clients: New Cards Are Here!

DTA is rolling out new chip/tap-enabled EBT cards to all Massachusetts clients, replacing the old magstripe-only cards for added security and convenience. 💳✨

Here's what you need to know:

✅ Your new card is being mailed automatically, no need to visit a TAO or call DTA
✅ Don't have one yet? Request one via DTA Connect, by calling EBT Customer Service (800-997-2555), or at a local TAO
✅ Activate it FAST, just make one purchase or call the number on the back to set a new PIN
✅ You have 60 days before your old card is automatically deactivated ⏳

💡 Tip: Checkout may look different at first, you might need to tap or insert the card a couple times before being prompted to swipe. That's normal, not a card failure!

🔒 Stay safe: change your PIN regularly and lock your card when not in use through the DTA Connect app.

Our Summer Cohort showed up with purpose, care, and impact. 💙📊

Together, the team supported 421 engagements, completed 206 screenings, submitted 85 applications, and helped generate an estimated $144,845 in annualized savings for patients and families.

Behind every number is a student, a patient, and a step toward easier access to care and support. Proud of this cohort and the work they made possible! 🙌

Meet Maraki, Link Health Policy Associate and MPH candidate at Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences ! 🎓💙

Maraki recently presented her capstone research, tackling a gap that keeps too many families from the support they already qualify for.

Her work mapped real barriers like administrative complexity, low health literacy, language access, transportation, and system fragmentation, and connected each one to navigation strategies that can help close those gaps.

Her recommendations included treating language accessibility and navigation as core infrastructure, and formalizing the coordination work that bridges clinical and benefits systems.
