I’ve had enough.
I’m going to say something, and I’m going to say it very clearly. And I’m going to say it ONCE.

There has been a lot of drama, speculation, and quite frankly, indignity surrounding Miguel and his passing. I’ve seen too many screenshots about people just being absolutely ridiculous..

Was Miguel unfiltered? Absolutely.
Did he sometimes say things that made you wonder what in the world just came out of his mouth? Yep. 😂
Was he everyone’s cup of tea? Not even close.

But in my experience, Miguel was also one of the kindest people I had the opportunity to know.

Miguel and I talked Kiri quite a bit. He would reach out when he needed help with his Kiri Swap/Show. He checked in on me regularly. We talked birds, events, life and whatever else came up.

And if there were two things I knew without question about that man, it was that he loved Camilla and his son more than anything in this entire world.

Except maybe his Kiri. 😂 I think Camilla would even give me that one.

I understand that not everyone liked Miguel. I understand that some people didn’t understand him. I understand that some of you had interactions with him that you didn’t appreciate, agree with, or condone.

You are allowed to feel that way.

‼️➡️ But there is a time and a place to unpack those feelings, THE TIME IS NOT while his family and the people who loved him are trying to process his incredibly unexpected death.‼️⬅️

Especially when it comes to Camilla.

Please understand something:

✨ She is looking for the same answers everyone else is. ✨

The difference is, you get to close Facebook.

You get to put your phone down.

You get to go home to your family.

You get to wake up tomorrow and continue your normal life.

⚠️She doesn’t.⚠️

This isn’t a Facebook story to her.
This isn’t gossip.
This isn’t something to investigate from behind a screen.

This is her life.

Her world just changed in a way she never expected, and she is trying to figure out how to exist in a world that suddenly doesn’t have Miguel in it.

She should not have to be on social media defending him.

She should not have to answer questions she doesn’t have answers to.

She should not have to read people’s opinions about the man she loved while she’s trying to comprehend that he’s gone.

And she sure as hell shouldn’t have to defend how she is grieving.

So please.

‼️Leave her alone, man. Let her freaking grieve.‼️

➡️If you didn’t like Miguel, that’s okay.

➡️If you had issues with him, that’s okay.

➡️If you don’t understand something surrounding his passing, you’re allowed to have questions.

But right now, kindness costs you absolutely nothing. Silence costs you even less.😘

There will be a time for questions. There will be a time for conversations. There will be a time for people to work through whatever feelings they have.

Right now is the time to let Miguels world grieve the person they loved.

🫶🏻Miguel wasn’t perfect. None of us are.🫶🏻

But he was somebody’s partner.🙌🏼
He was somebody’s dad.🙌🏼
He was somebody’s friend.🙌🏼
And to a whole lot of us, he was the crazy Kiri guy who could make you shake your head and laugh in the same conversation.🙌🏼

Whatever your feelings about him may have been, his family deserves ✨ dignity ✨ in his death.

Please give them that.

Sometimes you meet (thru fb but still) someone who’s personality is so big, whose heart is so good, who’s smile is so contagious, who’s spirit is so creative and fierce …. And sometimes that light that is so bright gets ripped away way too soon. I knew the first time we chatted away about all the things like we had always known each other that you were special and rare and different and well just really fu***ng cool to interact with. Like just a bad ass chick. 🐣 hah! See what I did there Alisha Anderson- I know you would’ve liked that one and probably beat me to it. I feel blessed to have known you for the brief time I did. U made an impact. You were such a beautiful piece of this thing we call life. U were kind to me during a time I was looking for any shred of hope and light in and u swooped in with all you were carrying and freely shared that hope and kindness and reminders of who the hell I am and how strong I am. I know so many people must be mourning your loss in such a great way and the hole they must feel bc u were larger than life. Fly free of the pain, the sadness, the worry, the cancer-
