✨ There was a phrase I heard recently that really stuck with me:

“Everything happens in the perfect time, space, and sequence.”

The more I thought about it, the more I realized how true it has been in my own life.

There have been so many moments where one different decision, one missed opportunity, or one unexpected event could have completely changed the direction of my life. It’s almost like the movie Sliding Doors… where one small moment creates two completely different futures.

When I look back at my journey, immigrating to the United States, going through a divorce, becoming an entrepreneur, and all the experiences in between, I can see how each chapter led to the next. At the time, I didn’t always understand why things were happening. Some moments were painful, some exciting, and some felt completely uncertain.

Life reminds us that we can’t control everything. What we can control is our attitude. We can choose patience over panic, trust over fear, and keep an open mind about where life is taking us 💛

✨ Before I went through it myself, I don’t think I truly understood just how much life can change in such a short amount of time.

People often say the three most stressful things you can experience are death, divorce, and moving. Each one on its own can completely shake your world. When they happen close together, it can feel like you’re carrying a weight that never lets up.

The hardest part isn’t just the emotions. It’s all the decisions. The planning. The logistics. The constant feeling that everyone needs something from you while you’re trying to figure out what your next step should be.

What I’ve learned is that you don’t have to have every answer today. Give yourself permission to slow down. Not every decision has to be made in the middle of the storm. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is pause, think clearly, and respond instead of react.

Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but every day gives you a little more perspective, a little more strength, and a little more confidence that you’ll make it through 💛

🙃 We’ve all heard the saying, “Turn that frown upside down.” It sounds cliché, but the older I get, the more I understand what it really means.

People are going to say things that bother you. They’re going to have bad attitudes. Sometimes they’ll take their bad day out on you. But if you let every comment or every interaction ruin your day, you’re giving other people way too much control over your life.

The truth is, you never know what someone else is going through. Maybe they’re stressed. Maybe they’re hurting. Maybe today just isn’t their day.

That doesn’t excuse bad behavior, but it does remind me not to take everything so personally.

The only thing I can control is how I respond. I can choose to get angry, or I can choose to protect my peace. Most of the time, I’ve found that kindness and a little patience go a lot further than reacting in the moment.

You can’t control other people, but you can always control the energy you bring into the room. And sometimes, that’s enough to change someone else’s day too 💛

✨ Patience has taught me that not every answer has to come today.

Sometimes the best thing I can do is sit quietly, reflect on where I am, and trust that the next step will reveal itself when it’s supposed to.

I’ve found that the more patient I am with life, the more at peace I become with the journey.

There are days when I feel the weight of everything on my shoulders.

Running a business. Leading a team. Taking care of the people I love. Making the right decisions. Wondering if I'm thinking far enough ahead or preparing enough for what's next.

My mind has a way of creating problems that haven't even happened yet. And if I'm not careful, I'll spend more time worrying about the "what ifs" than living in the "right now."

Then I remind myself of something...

Every challenge I've faced up to this point once felt impossible too. Somehow, I figured it out. I adapted. I learned. I kept going.

So why would this next challenge be any different?

I can't control what tomorrow brings, but I can trust the person I've become because of everything I've already made it through.

Maybe that's the reminder we all need sometimes: You're capable of more than you give yourself credit for 💛

I signed up to learn Brazilian jiu-jitsu for two reasons: self-defense and to challenge myself.

Like I do with most things, I didn’t jump in right away. I watched a class first. It was disciplined, organized, and honestly a little intimidating. Everyone knew exactly what they were doing.

The next day, an instructor invited me to watch her class instead. It was the complete opposite. It felt chaotic, unstructured, and hard to follow.

After class, she asked for my thoughts. So I gave them… respectfully. I shared what I observed and explained why the first class felt more organized.

The next time I came back to enroll, instead of welcoming me, she confronted me. She had taken my feedback personally.

That moment reminded me of something we all face in business and in life: if you ask for feedback, be prepared to hear the answer. Constructive criticism isn’t an attack… it’s an opportunity. The people who grow the most aren’t the ones who never hear criticism. They’re the ones who don’t let their ego get in the way of learning from it.

✨ Sometimes the biggest obstacles aren’t actually the problem… they’re the excuses we tell ourselves about the problem.

My water heater went out, and after the plumbers came, my garbage disposal stopped working. I convinced myself it was going to be an expensive, complicated fix. Weeks went by because I didn’t want to bother someone over something that felt “too small.”

Then one day I finally opened the cabinet.

The garbage disposal wasn’t broken at all. It just wasn’t plugged in.

💡 That’s it.

It made me realize how often we do this in life. We avoid the conversation, the project, the opportunity, or the challenge because we’ve already decided it’s too difficult. We let uncertainty turn into fear, and fear turns into procrastination.

Sometimes the solution isn’t nearly as complicated as we’ve imagined. The hardest part is having the courage to take the first look 🫣

I was asked what party I belong to.

My answer? The humanity party.

I’ve reached a point in life where I care less about labels and more about people, character, and qualifications. Whether it’s hiring someone for my business, choosing who to trust, or making important decisions, I believe the right person in the right role matters more than which side they’re on.

As entrepreneurs, leaders, and members of our communities, we have the ability, and the responsibility, to think critically, evaluate for ourselves, and choose what we believe is in the best interest of the people we serve.

For me, it’s never been about picking a team. It’s about supporting integrity, accountability, and the people who create the greatest positive impact for those around them.

Humanity first 🤍

I had one of those moments that completely messed with my perception of time.

I was filling out an online application and had to scroll to my birth year. It felt like I was scrolling forever just to get to 1977. My first thought was, Wait… wasn’t that just yesterday?

Then my mind started connecting the generations.

My grandfather was born in the 1910s. My grandmother in the 1920s. My parents in the 1940s and 1950s. And me… the 1970s.

Somehow, all of those years that once felt so distant now feel connected by a single lifetime.

A few years ago, my niece asked me, “Khale (means aunt in Farsi), were you born in the 1900s?”

It caught me off guard… and then realized the answer was yes.

Perspective is funny like that.

The years between your birth date and today aren’t just numbers on a screen. They’re filled with lessons, heartbreaks, victories, failures, relationships, risks, and memories that quietly shape who you become.

Sometimes we focus so much on how quickly time is passing that we forget to appreciate everything that happened along the way.

✨ I was in 10th grade when I had my first controlling boyfriend.

At the time, I didn't have the words for it.

I just thought that's what it meant when someone loved and cared about you.

He told me what I should wear. He didn't like certain friends. He had opinions about where I went and what I did.

And little by little, I started making decisions based on what would make someone else happy instead of asking myself what I wanted.

The relationship didn't last, but the pattern did.

For years, I found myself giving away pieces of who I was. I became a people pleaser. I avoided conflict. I looked for approval before trusting my own instincts. I thought being "easy to love" meant compromising myself.

It took me a long time to realize that healthy love doesn't control you. It doesn't make you question your worth or your voice.

Learning to become independent wasn't about proving I didn't need anyone.

It was about learning to trust myself again.

And have realizing, the strongest relationship you'll ever build is the one you have with yourself. ❤️
