Another week in the books but not before getting to see another one of our houses growing out of the ground. This one is near River Oaks, and it’s going to be fun having the clients live next door. They can’t wait to move in. — all in due time.

Another project coming out of the ground. This one’s in the Oak Forest neighborhood. It’s crazy how much construction is getting started.

We designed a very VERY small restaurant in downtown Houston many years ago. At the same time as our 1500 sf ground up construction, the neighbor was building a 30-story high rise. It was a constant battle. Flash forward to today, and near Rice Village we are building a lovely Charleston-inspired home and their backyard neighbor is another very tall building. What a contrast of construction.

The property is so BIG, you have to get up in the air to see it. Concrete is getting poured tomorrow, and we can’t wait to watch this house grow out of the Friendswood prairie.

We are in the home stretch of the design for this lovely home in Garden Oaks. Awesome clients with an open heart and open mind allowed us to create an English Cottage-inspired home for the next chapter in their lives. These 3D renderings give you a look at the front and the back of this unique home.

What a treat to visit one of our old projects— 10 years ago we dropped this lovely home in Sugar Land, TX. New owners are so excited to be there. I was happy to share with them inspiration and meaning behind some of the home’s features and design decisions.

You have probably seen our contemporary homes, but some of you don’t know about half of our work is traditional or transitional homes as well. This home in Hillshire Village is definitely going to be in our top our of favorites list when it’s done. The downstairs “adult games room” is be the envy of all. Upstairs bedrooms allow us to take advantage of the vaulted ceilings. The accessory building will have an indoor half court basketball court and a gym. Sheet rock is going in soon, and then the house starts to really transform.

Many clients say they want a sink with. Window over it, and there are always a lot of reasons why it won’t work: need more upper cabinet space, work flow doesn’t allow, not enough room for dishwasher and trash next to the sink…. Whatever. But when we can make it work, and that window is not just looking directly into a fence 3’ away from the window, it does make for a nice morning glow.

It’s finally here. The roof top pool was installed, lowered carefully into place on the roof top terrace. I was and continue to be impressed with the team at Luxury Custom Homes In Houston for their handling of a unique house build. To all my architect friends, they need to be on your short list if they aren’t already.

Each house makes me excited. I can’t help it. This project in Austin is a mix of new ideas and old ones as well. I had to come check it out now that it is starting to take shape.
