Some of Poland's greatest treasures aren't found in museums.

One of them is a giant oak tree named Bartek.

Located near Zagnańsk in south-central Poland, Bartek is estimated to be several hundred years old, with some estimates placing its age at over 600 years. Its enormous trunk, measuring more than 44 feet around at the base, has made it a symbol of strength, endurance, and Polish heritage.

Over the centuries, countless legends have grown around Bartek. One story claims that King Casimir III the Great rested beneath its branches. Another says treasures from Poland's past were hidden inside the tree's hollow trunk.

Whether the legends are true or not, generations of Poles have visited Bartek and regarded the great oak as a living witness to centuries of Polish history.

🌳 If a tree could tell stories, imagine the tales Bartek could share.
