The HEART Program

We are proud to have vending machines at many Harris Center locations, and we’re excited to now support their new Super Hub that just opened in the East End. We are so grateful for our ongoing partnership with The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD --our trainees enjoy servicing their facilities!

H.E.A.R.T.'s main campus will be closed this coming Friday, June 19th to allow our staff and trainees to celebrate Juneteenth with their friends and families.

We were excited to kick off H.E.A.R.T.’s Summer Internship Program at the Houston Food Bank this past week! Our interns are already hard at work, learning valuable job skills and making a difference in the community. Let’s cheer them on as they grow, learn, and help fight hunger this summer.

H.E.A.R.T. was thrilled to have Mayor John Whitmire attend our 20th Anniversary Luncheon and participate in the awards ceremony for our trainee MVPs! Thank you, Mayor Whitmire!

The H.E.A.R.T. Program is so grateful for CenterPoint Energy's investment in our Vending and Concessions Program, which supports our daily efforts offering work to trainees as well as assisting with the purchase of new vending machines to ensure that this program is self-sustaining for years to come!

H.E.A.R.T. had a wonderful time today celebrating the graduation of our HISD Transition Program students at Houston Food Bank. Congratulations to each of the graduates, and many thanks to all of the parents, teachers, specialists, partners and administrators who made this amazing moment possible for our students!

It was also a bittersweet moment for H.E.A.R.T. as we say goodbye to Amy and welcome Aylin as a permanent member of the H.E.A.R.T. Team at Houston Food Bank.
