A meaningful conversation in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month! 🎉
UHD’s President’s Lecture Series, “Leading with Purpose: A Conversation with Houston City Council Members,” featured Joaquin Martinez (District I) and Julian Ramirez (At-Large Position 1) for an engaging discussion on city government, pathways to civic service, and their experiences serving the Houston community.
Thank you to our speakers for sharing their experiences, insights, and perspectives with the UHD community—and to everyone who joined us for this special conversation.

The Gator Community wants you to know that, as we observe Su***de Prevention Month this September, we are reminded that hope, connection, and compassion can make a powerful difference. By reaching out, listening, and supporting one another, we can help create a community where no one has to struggle alone.
As a JED Campus, UHD is committed to promoting mental health, reducing stigma, and ensuring that everyone knows support is available. By encouraging open and honest conversations about su***de, recognizing the warning signs that someone may be struggling, and fostering a culture of care, we can break down the barriers that make su***de a difficult topic to discuss. Together, we can create a community where seeking help is encouraged, speaking up is welcomed, and no one feels alone in their challenges.
