Our hearts are still so full after Soul to Sole: Unmasking Her Story — Seen, Heard, Empowered.

Because of YOU, we raised MORE THAN $125,000 — surpassing our $85,000 goal by more than $40,000! 💛

But this night was about so much more than a number.

Every dollar raised helps Bel Inizio walk alongside women rebuilding their lives through challenges including housing instability, domestic violence, substance use disorder, refugee resettlement, significant life hardships, and the need for connection and community.

At Bel Inizio, we empower women to build self-esteem and confidence by fostering positive life changes through fitness, nutrition, and goal setting.

Together, we’ve watched 1,000+ women cross the finish line of local Houston 5K races — many sharing that it was the first goal they committed to and actually finished. 🏃🏽‍♀️✨

But they don’t cross that finish line alone.

Our volunteers provide the encouragement, support, and accountability that help our athletes believe in themselves and keep moving forward.

There are so many ways YOU can get involved:

🏃🏽‍♀️ Walk or run with an athlete
🎽 Volunteer at races or support fundraising
💻 Lend a hand at the Bel Inizio office
🧘🏽‍♀️ Teach yoga, Zumba, bootcamp, or another activity
📸 Share your photography or content skills

What Is Bel Inizio? 🤍

Located in Houston, Texas, Bel Inizio — meaning “beautiful beginning” in Italian — is a nonprofit helping disadvantaged women develop self-confidence and life skills through fitness and nutrition.

Our work begins with a 5K, but it’s about so much more than crossing a finish line.

Through our training program, women learn about:

🏃🏽‍♀️ Movement — building healthy habits through consistent exercise
🥗 Wellness — understanding the role fitness and nutrition play in a healthy life
🤝🏽 Community — finding support and connection along the journey
✨ Accountability — setting a goal and committing to seeing it through
💪🏽 Confidence — discovering that they are capable of accomplishing something they once thought was impossible

We work alongside partner agencies throughout Houston, supporting women who are rebuilding their lives and working hard to re-enter the community.

Bel Inizio provides something critically important alongside these resources: the opportunity to believe in yourself again.

Because completing a 5K isn’t the finish line.

It’s preparation for the ultimate race — the race for a better life.

And through Beyond the Finish Line, our Phase 2 program, that community and support can continue as women take their next steps forward.
