As the first multifamily complex in Mont Belvieu, Texas, Brickyard at the Barbers Hill introduces a new residential offering to the city through a 97,778-square-foot garden-style development. The community features 336 units across approximately 20 acres, with multiple building types and a variety of resident amenities.

The community includes a leasing office, fitness center, club room, business center, mail room, and conference space, with three-story residential buildings arranged throughout the site. A modern, casual design carries throughout the development, with light, neutral interior tones complemented by exterior materials including red-toned brick and light-toned fiber cement siding.

For a recent team-building activity, our GoreeWhitfield team had the opportunity to experience the iconic Salk Institute in La Jolla through a private architectural tour.

Designed by renowned architect Louis Kahn, the Salk Institute is one of modern architecture’s most celebrated works. During the tour, we explored the organizational principles behind Kahn’s design, including his pioneering approach to flexible laboratory spaces and the separation of research areas from utility systems.

From its exposed concrete structure and powerful symmetry to its intentional use of natural light, the tour offered an up-close look at the thoughtful design decisions that have made the Salk Institute an enduring architectural landmark.

It was an inspiring opportunity to learn, connect, and experience this remarkable work of architecture together as a team!

Goree is proud to announce the promotion of Robert Burrell, AIA, to Associate Director of Architecture.

During his nearly six years with Goree, Robert has continued to expand his role, most recently serving as a Senior Project Manager while playing an integral part in our growing mission-critical portfolio.

As Associate Director of Architecture, he will build on that experience by supporting project teams, strengthening project delivery, and mentoring the next generation of architects.

Our team was proud to celebrate the grand opening of the new San Bruno Genesis Hyundai flagship dealership!

Bringing the Genesis and Hyundai brands together under one roof in a five-level dealership, this project was a major collaborative effort from design through completion. It was exciting to see the finished facility in action and celebrate the hard work, coordination, and commitment of everyone who helped bring the project to life.

Congratulations to the entire project team and all of our partners on this exciting milestone. We’re grateful to have played a role in creating a new home for Genesis and Hyundai in San Bruno!

Creating a sense of place begins with understanding what makes each location unique.

While these communities share the same ownership, brand standards, and commitment to luxury living, their design responses are influenced by the character of their surroundings. From the established neighborhood identity and lifestyle experience of River Oaks to the connection to greenery and outdoor recreation surrounding Memorial Park, each location presents different opportunities to shape the resident experience.

By responding to the context of each neighborhood, design can reinforce a client's identity while creating spaces that feel connected to the people and places they serve.

Thoughtful design is not about creating the same experience everywhere. It's about creating the right experience for each place.

While a client's identity, values, and vision may remain consistent across projects, the surrounding context often shapes how that story is expressed. Location, community character, and user expectations all influence the final design outcome.

These two residential communities share the same commitment to quality, multi-family, and elevated living experiences. Yet each responds uniquely to its surroundings, creating spaces that feel authentic to their location while maintaining the level of excellence residents have come to expect.

The result is a portfolio that feels connected by a common vision while remaining rooted in the character of each community.
