I had a moment on Friday….
I think it lingered into Saturday as well after I discussed what I was going through with my therapist.

Body Dysmorphia is so real.
At a young age I was called “fat” by someone who had no business telling a little girl that. Especially someone who I deeply care about. It also didn’t help that other adults in my life were deep in the fitness world & during the toxic skinny days of the early millennium… trying to make it big as a teen singer-songwriter, never feeling good enough, really takes a toll on your mental.
Eventually I did become the very thing I was so fearful of becoming. I gave up on myself, my music, and I many relationships in my life due to the inner demons I was fighting.
While I have come a long long way in the last ten years, (even though this has been like 20+ yrs frfr) I still have my moments. This not only affected my job in that moment, it was caught in real time on my TikTok live! Luckily for me I’ve built a very dope family over there & they had my back. I ended my 1st set early so that I could walk away, cry, breathe and then remember who the F- I am… SHELEAH ‘f-in MONÉA’
You can truly bounce back from anything as long as you don’t stay knocked down too long! Keep believing and you will make it!!!
