This sweet girl is headed to her first vet appointment this afternoon since coming into the rescue this week. She also had a spa day this week but unfortunately because her matting was so severe, she needed to be shaved down. But after her shave, you would swear she aged down at least a decade! This girl is 16yrs old but suddenly became a puppy again, complete with some much needed zoomies! I can only imagine how uncomfortable she must have been for a long time. She could not even p**p properly because the matting blocked it! But those days are behind her now. She is so loved and I am forever grateful for her foster for taking her in.

We will now see what we are dealing with health wise and hopefully she is doing okay. Even though this is a first visit, this visit is going to be costly due to bloodwork, vaccines, exam, and her ears are in horrible shape. Her teeth are also in horrible condition. Poor girl! It has been sometime since she has seen a vet according to her former owner.

Please welcome Layla to 632 Canine Rescue!

Layla is a 16-year-old Maltipoo who has found her way to us after being surrendered by her owner. She is fully blind, hard of hearing, and has a heart murmur, but none of that has changed what a sweet, loving girl she is.

It’s bittersweet to see a senior surrendered at this stage of her life, but we are grateful that we can be here for Layla and give her what every senior deserves: love, security, comfort, and hope for her golden years.

Today is surgery day for this handsome boy. Exodus is finally gettting neutered. His anxiety while still present has improved and seizures are under control. His bloodwork came out perfect and our vet thought now would be a great time for him to go under safely. We are wishing him a safe and quick procedure and plenty of snuggles once back home.

Can you foster this 13yr old senior girl?

We are seeking a foster for this sweet old girl. This adorable 13yr old is an owner surrender who through no fault of her own is having to start over. She does also have Cushing's disease as well, but this little girl is a trooper who has not given up hope of a bright future. Can you foster this sweet girl and help us, help her? Update on Mr. Blue. He is losing his foster home starting next week. Unfortunately, his foster momma has gotten sick which has left her unable to continue to care for him until adoption. Blue should be going to a new foster home around the same time which works out so that this handsome boy will have a hopefully seamless transition.

Exodus has his neuter next week and we are expecting an easy recovery. His bloodwork came back perfect which is always great to hear. We are also expecting a new senior to join the fold next week and her name is Layla! She is a super sweet 16yr old, fully blind and hard of hearing. We already cannot wait to meet this sweet old gal!

I am continuously amazed at how far this handsome boy has come. He has some anxiety issues but that does not change the fact that he is still such a sweet boy. He has been loving his doggie day out trips, courtesy of one of our amazing volunteers Vick. Exodus loves getting outside and we love to see him so happy. Hopefully we get to see this boy in a forever home soon!

Looks like we have another senior coming into the rescue fold. This sweet girl named Layla is an owner surrender. She is a 16yr old gal, blind, and hard of hearing. It's always sad to see a senior being surrendered but it happens and it's important that organizations like us are there to ensure that dogs like Layla have a place to go when it happens. Unfortunately, there are many dogs that we still must say no to simply because we do not have open foster homes. Currently, we are in need of long-term fosters willing to foster until adoption.

Nevertheless, we will do our best to ensure that this sweet girl is loved and cared for while in rescue. We are also going to do our best in finding the perfect home when the time comes. She is not yet with us but should be joining us next week.

Blue has a vet appointment this afternoon. Had to change the schedule but it just means that he gets to be seen earlier. We are really hoping that he isn't dealing with anything too serious but all we can do for now is wait. He has an entire community rallying around him!

I cannot get over how amazing these came out! Thank you so much to .htx for once again photographing a senior baby for us and oh my goodness, isn't Blue so stinkin handsome!?!?! This sweetheart will be headed to the vet this week to hopefully figure out what's going on with that mass of his, but fingers and paws crossed that it is nothing serious.
