PLUME, NOT MOLD. Know the difference.

One of the most misunderstood things in the cigar world is the white residue that can appear on an aged cigar. Many people immediately think mold, but in some cases, what you’re actually seeing is plume (also called bloom).

Plume is a fine, whitish, powder-like residue that can develop on the wrapper of a cigar as it ages properly in a well-maintained humidor. In the cigar industry, plume is traditionally associated with the natural aging process, where oils and compounds rise to the surface of the wrapper and create that light dusty appearance.

That tells you a few important things:
1. The humidor conditions have likely been stable.
2. The cigar has been aging properly.
3. The to***co has been resting and maturing the way premium ci**rs are supposed to.

That’s why many cigar smokers and collectors appreciate seeing plume on a cigar. To them, it can be a sign that the cigar has been cared for correctly and is developing beautifully over time.

Now, mold is different. Mold usually appears fuzzy, hairy, patchy, or raised, and it may show colors like green, blue, or bright white. It can also have a musty or sour smell and may spread into the foot or inside the cigar. If it smears, stains, or smells bad, that’s a warning sign.

Plume, on the other hand, is usually:

* fine and powdery
* soft white or light gray
* lightly dusted across the wrapper
* easy to wipe away cleanly
* still smells like clean, aged to***co

Crafted with Nicaraguan leaf, a San Andrés binder, a Brazilian wrapper, and seven-year-aged to***co from the hills of Jalapa, Nicaragua, Anniversary 19 represents the foundation of what we do.

Now introducing our newest addition: The Prejean — Liga Ligera.

Built with Nicaraguan leaf, a Nicaraguan Liga binder, and finished with a Peruvian wrapper, the Prijon delivers an incredible balance of complexity and character.

From the first draw, you’re met with a warm baking spice, followed by subtle white pepper, earthy richness, and a light, dry coffee finish. There’s a delicate sweetness underneath it all—a refined, almost toasted quality that brings the entire profile together.
