Texas Lawyer has named Baker Botts a finalist in the 2026 Texas Legal Awards for both General Litigation Department of the Year and Intellectual Property Litigation Department of the Year.
In the last year, the firm’s notable litigation wins include a more than $213 million trade secrets victory for DXC Technology, a complete summary judgment for Ribbon Communications, and appellate victories before the U.S. Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit and Texas Supreme Court.
Baker Botts has also won IP Litigation Department of the Year two years in a row, becoming the first firm to do so.

Baker Botts advised the Special Committee of LandBridge on its planned conversion and redomestication from a Delaware limited liability company to a Texas corporation.
LandBridge owns more than 325,000 acres across Texas and New Mexico, actively supporting energy, infrastructure, and digital development in the Permian Basin. Baker Botts also advised a separate conflicts committee on LandBridge's planned acquisition of approximately 560 acres underlying an environmental waste management facility in New Mexico.

Baker Botts represented Western LNG and its subsidiary Ksi Lisims LNG on the first major long-term LNG supply agreement between Canada and Germany.
The agreement with Uniper provides for the purchase of 2 million tonnes of LNG per year for up to 20 years. It marks Ksi Lisims LNG’s first long-term sales contract with a European utility and a significant step in the project’s commercial development.
Baker Botts advises sponsors and developers on major energy and infrastructure projects around the world, including LNG project development and commercial agreements.

Baker Botts advised Electrum Strategic Resources L.P., the largest shareholder of NOVAGOLD Resources Inc., on NOVAGOLD's agreement to acquire 100% of the Donlin Gold project in Alaska, creating a U.S.-domiciled gold developer with an equity value of approximately $4.2 billion.
Paulson Advisers LLC will trade its 40% stake for shares in a new company, giving NOVAGOLD sole ownership of a project projected to become the largest gold mine in the United States, with more than one million ounces of annual production over an estimated 27-year mine life.

Baker Botts advised Saronic Technologies on its newly announced development, Port Alpha, a more than $3 billion next-generation shipyard planned at the Port of Brownsville. The project represents one of the largest industrial investments in Texas and is expected to significantly expand U.S. shipbuilding capacity, with construction anticipated to begin later this year.
Baker Botts advised Saronic on key aspects of the project, including negotiation of a lease with the Port of Brownsville, state and local tax incentives, and construction-related matters.
