Normally, this type of fracture is easy to detect when our NDT Inspectors at Lion Inspection examine the entire length of the mandrel/drive shaft used on Drilling Mud Motors during inspection. However, fractures in these components are typically transverse rather than longitudinal, making this type of fracture unusual. I would appreciate your opinion on what may have caused the fracture to occur in this manner.

We are looking for NDT level II MPI, LPI, UT and VT inspector. Minimum 5 years experience in downhole/drilling tools. (Mud motors, shock tools, elevators, reamers, BHA, etc.) Also, experience in rig components. Weld inspection, etc.
