News Update! Beginning this Saturday we will be carrying Three Sisters Farm pure, unfiltered, raw honey from Needville. Peg and Jen have some of the best local honey around. Farmers Market On Grand Parkway 8-12. See ya!!

When people think of Brazos Bend, they think of fun, outdoor activities and getting to explore our wild spaces. One of the easiest ways to get in on the fun is to join us for engaging, fun, educational programs that we offer every week!

Here are a few of the educational programs we are offering in the next little while here at Brazos Bend State Park:

-Every Sat-Sunday at 10AM:
+All About Us: a Guided Hike: Join in on a short, guided hike from the Nature Center around Creekfield Lake.

-Saturday, June 28:
+11AM: Wildcraft: A brief arts and crafts program. Leave with an alligator puppet you make yourself!
+1PM: Alligators: from Egg to Apex: Explore the harsh lives of alligators that sees them going from small fry to king of the swamp!

-Sunday, June 29:
+1PM: Pond Life: Discover the world under the water as we search for living organisms pulled straight from our lakes! Join us at the 40 Acre Lake observation tower for this program.
+2PM: The Old Tree's Beard: Explore the impacts that Spanish Moss has and continues to make on wildlife and people, too!

-Wednesday, July 2:
+7:30PM: Twilight Night Hike: Join us at the restrooms at 40 Acre Lake to experience how the swamps come alive when the sun turns down.

-Sunday, July 6:
+11AM: The Amazing Powers of Butterflies: Discover the strange and incredible ways that butterflies experience the world around them.
+2PM: Spectacular Snakes: Explore the truth behind the myths and misconceptions surrounding these secretive animals and discover how we couldn't live without them.

Come see us this week for Part 2 of our 3 part series Sowing Seeds of Savings Gardening on the Gulf Coast: Thriving In The Heat

This is a FREE class and lite refreshments will be provided.

Huge thanks to State Rep. Mr. Morgan for showing up and fighting for us. Our tax dollars deserve better. With this much public attention, we hope it finally pushes the leaders to move this construction forward and get it done.

We'll be setting up at the Flashy Light Saturday and Sunday afternoons from about 3 - 7. Sunday morning we'll be at Blockhouse Coffee & Kitchen from 10 - 1.
We'll have our honey, bread & butter pickles, and plum jam. Our friends the Loopers are still busy in the garden & will probably bring us peppers and a variety of squash to sell for them.

Jen will be leaving on Tuesday to tour with The Bluecoats of Drum Corps International for the rest of the summer. I will stick around and sell honey and our homestead.

I don't really know what else to say. This has been a great 12 ½ years of being market gardeners and home canners. We truly appreciate all the love and support from all our customers. You are the reason we went into this venture in the first place. Everybody eats! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
