Immanuel Lutheran School serves children 18 months to Kindergarten and has been part of the Heights community since 1927.

Immanuel Lutheran School was established in 1927 and is a ministry of Immanuel Lutheran Church. We are accredited by the Lutheran School Accreditation Commission (LSAC) which is a division of the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC). The mission of our school is to promote and sustain the new life in Christ – to provide opportunities for academic excellence and to instill Christian values. The children enrolled in our school represent many different Christian denominations and all denominations are welcome and invited to apply for admission. Bible Stories and devotional time are held daily, with Chapel on Wednesday mornings. The Christian faith is integrated into each subject area as well as the day-to-day life of each student. We offer 2 day, 3 day and 5 day programs and before and after school care. We pray that our Lord will bless our efforts as together we seek to raise children so that they will grow both in stature and wisdom, and be loved by God and man.

😂🍪 Apparently, Cookie Monster is HILARIOUS!

There’s nothing quite like watching little imaginations at work. Whether they’re feeding Cookie Monster, caring for a baby doll, building something new, or turning an ordinary toy into a whole adventure, play is serious learning at Immanuel.

And judging by that last picture, Cookie Monster has some really great jokes. 😂💙

A kind word can brighten someone’s whole day! 🍎

Our students are learning to encourage their friends, thank their teachers, and speak with care. Even little voices can share God’s love in a big way.

What a beautiful gift our words can be!

🍎 We had an apple-solutely GOLDEN DELICIOUS day at Immanuel! 🍏✨

Our Twos and Threes celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day today! Johnny Appleseed was known for planting apple trees across the frontier and for sharing his Christian faith and love of God along the way. 🌱❤️

Our happy little apples went apple hunting, spiraled apples, painted “caramel” apples, stamped apples, bobbed for apples…and even got in a few VERY rowdy apple c***r CHEERS! 🧃🍎

It was a day filled to the core with learning, laughter, and sweet memories. We couldn’t have picked a better way to spend our Friday! 🍏🍎

Fine Motor Friday in Mrs. Vickery’s Preschool class! ✋

Stickers, Play-Doh, puzzles, matching games, and sensory activities give our students a fun way to strengthen their hands and practice coordination. Mrs. Vickery works with the children individually and in small groups, helping each one build skills they’ll use for drawing, writing, and everyday tasks.

Take a look at what they’ve been working on!

🤸 We LOVE gymnastics days at Immanuel!

Jumping, tumbling, balancing, stretching and LOTS of smiles! Our students had so much fun getting moving with Coach Glass while building strength, coordination, confidence and new skills along the way. 💛💙

Want to join the fun? It’s not too late! Registration is still open with Glass Gymnastics at glassgymnastics.com.

There is JOY in the Kingdom of God! 💛

At Immanuel, we want our students to know the joy that comes from seeking God first, trusting His promises, and knowing just how deeply they are loved by Him. What a blessing to watch them grow, learn, play, and rejoice in all the good gifts God gives us each day!

You may have already heard our church bells ringing this morning. Today, they will ring in remembrance of each of the flights that crashed on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.

Houston played a role in the difficult days that followed, as brave first responders from our city traveled to the wreckage to help search for our fellow Americans.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders who answered the call to serve. We pray that God would continue to bless and protect our nation, grant wisdom to those who lead us, and give us hearts of courage, compassion, and love for our neighbors.

God bless America, and may we never forget.

🔎 Science in Action! 🔍

Our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students took their learning outside for a Science Scavenger Hunt!

Armed with magnifying glasses and a list of items from Mrs. Washington and Mrs. Hernandez, our young scientists searched, observed, and took a closer look at the world around them.

Sometimes the best discoveries happen when we slow down, look closely, and explore! 🔍🌱🐞
