Community Meeting: City of Houston in conjunction with the Texas Historical Commission
Join the City of Houston and the Texas Historical Commission for an important community meeting. The Texas Historical Commission will be presenting their National Register of Historic Places nominations to the stakeholders.

Today, the City of Houston's Office of Preservation is working to protect and celebrate the rich history of the Fifth Ward. With support from a grant provided by the Texas Historical Commission, the City is proposing that a four-block stretch of Lyons Avenue be added to the National Register of Historic Places. This designation helps recognize, honor, and preserve the unique history of the Fifth Ward for future generations.
During this meeting, the Texas Historical Commission will present the proposed National Register nomination to community stakeholders and explain what the designation means for the neighborhood. Community input is an important part of this process.
If stakeholders support moving forward with the nomination, the proposal will advance to the Texas Historical Commission's approval meeting in September in Amarillo, Texas.
We encourage residents, business owners, property owners, and anyone interested in the history and future of Lyons Avenue and the Fifth Ward to attend and be part of this important conversation.

Norhill Design Guidelines Update
