A federal judge gave Attorney General Todd Blanche a deadline to comply with court orders regarding the release of certain information in the Epstein files, threatening contempt charges for failure to comply.

Come sit on the porch for a minute, because we need to talk about something folks don’t always notice until they’re already deep in it. scams don’t always walk through the door looking like a scam.

Sometimes they come wrapped in pretty words…

“You were chosen.”
“You have a special gift.”
“We’re the only ones who can teach you this.”

Who Do They Look For?…

People in transition: Going through a major life change like a move, a break-up, a job loss, or college.

Lonely individuals: Looking for quick community, deep friendship, or a sense of belonging.

Idealistic people: Wanting to fix the world, find deep meaning, or solve major personal or global problems.

People in distress: Dealing with grief, trauma, or low self-esteem

And at first, it may feel good. You found people who understand you. You feel welcomed. You feel like you finally found somewhere you belong.But then the rules start changing.Now you’re being told who you can talk to.What you can read.What questions you’re allowed to ask.

How much money you need to give before you can receive the next level of knowledge.And before you know it, questioning the leader is treated like questioning the Spirit itself.That’s when I want you to take a step back.

A healthy spiritual community should not need to control your mind, isolate you from your family, scare you into staying, or make you believe something terrible will happen if you leave.

And please understand this part, too.Not every spiritual group is a cult just because it has rituals, a teacher, a hierarchy, or beliefs that are different from yours.

The concern is the CONTROL.Pay attention when somebody demands unquestioned loyalty.Pay attention when they discourage outside information.Pay attention when leaving is treated like betrayal.Pay attention when fear replaces freedom.

And especially pay attention when somebody keeps telling you, “Don’t question me.”Because your spiritual journey should never require you to turn your brain off at the door.Ask questions. Do your research. Talk to people outside the group.

Take your time before handing over your money, your trust, your relationships, or your freedom.And if somebody gets angry because you asked a reasonable question…That question may have been worth asking.

The Hidden Porch has always been about learning, remembering, and thinking for yourself.
Protect your spirit, but protect your discernment too.
Because sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is simply say…

“Let me think about that first.”
