Everyone’s excited about MCP going stateless until they realize what quietly disappeared with the session 👀

Identity. Permissions. Audit context.

And the shortcut a lot of teams take? One shared credential for everyone 🫠

It makes migration easier for a moment, but it also makes accountability messy really fast.

Every request should carry identity.
Every call should be provable.
Every action should be auditable. 🔐

Stateless is fine.
Unauditable is not. 🚨

🚨✨ I’m so excited to share that my new O'Reilly book, The Operator’s Manual for Engineering Leadership, is now in early release. 🎉📚

Chapters 1 and 2 are now available on the O’Reilly platform, and this is such a special milestone for me. 🥹💜

This book means a lot to me because the concepts in it are not just ideas I believe in for engineering teams. They are also how I think about focus, ex*****on, consistency, and building systems that make meaningful work possible.

I wrote it through an engineering leadership lens, but so much of it comes from how I personally think about operating with intention, building repeatable systems, and delivering consistently. ⚙️🚀

At its core, this book is about engineering leadership through a systems design lens. It’s about building the right operating systems so people, teams, and platforms can thrive.

I wrote it for engineering leaders, senior leaders, directors, and people leading technical organizations who want to design systems that drive impact at scale. 🌍✨

Thank you to the O’Reilly team for making this early release possible. I can’t wait to share more as the book progresses. 🙏🏾❤️

More chapters coming soon. 📖🚀

I’m really excited about this one! 🥳✨

On July 7, I’ll be joining the amazing Lena Reinhard for an O’Reilly Tech Leadership Tuesday session on a topic I’ve been thinking about a lot lately:

Measure Your Leadership Like You’d Measure a System.

As engineers, we obsess over metrics. We measure deployment frequency, reliability, latency, incident response, and all the things that help us build better systems.

But how often do we measure ourselves as leaders?
In this session, we’ll talk about how to apply that same engineering mindset to leadership. We’ll cover things like:

🌱 Adapting DORA metrics for leadership
🌱 Spotting when you’ve become the bottleneck
🌱 Auditing your calendar for high leverage work
🌱 Building a simple leadership dashboard that actually helps you grow

Whether you’re a tech lead, engineering manager, senior manager, engineering director, or you’re stepping into leadership for the first time, I hope you’ll join us. I promise it’ll be practical, interactive, and full of ideas you can start using right away. 👩🏽‍💻

I’d love to see some familiar names in the audience! 💕

See you on July 7! 🚀

I am honored to share that I won the Women in Cloud & Emerging Technologies Award at the Women in Technology and Engineering Summit & Awards (WITESA) 5.0, organized by Womenovate and Tech Revolution Africa. 🎉

This recognition is deeply meaningful to me. Thank you for seeing the work. 🙏🏾

Congratulations to my fellow honorees. So many of you are women I deeply respect and admire, and sharing this moment with you is special. 💙

✨ Excited to share that I was selected as part of the first cohort of the Agentic AI Foundation Ambassadors 🎉

AAIF is part of the Linux Foundation, building the open standards the agentic era runs on: MCP, Goose, AGENTS.md, and more. 🚀

This one feels timely. I’ve been deep in the multi-agent and MCP space with my upcoming course on designing and operating production multi-agent systems, and my broader work on AI as infrastructure. Being part of the community shaping how this ecosystem grows openly? Yes please 🙌🏽

More to come! 🌱💕

Day 3. Presentation day. That’s a wrap on the Ross School of Business Innovation Residency. 🎓

We pitched our B2B product, defended our decisions, and closed out what has honestly been one of the most rewarding few days of the program. The work was real, the pressure was real, and so was the satisfaction when it was done. 🙌🏾

I came into this residency with a team I’d only ever worked with remotely. I’m leaving with people I’d actually build something with. That’s the real win. 🤝🏾

On to the next one. 🚀

Day 1 of the Ross School of Business Innovation Residency is done, and I genuinely loved every minute of it. 🎉

There’s something special about spending months collaborating with people remotely and then finally being in the same room. The energy was completely different. ⚡ We’d already done some groundwork as a team before travelling to Michigan, so when we got together in person, we hit the ground running.

The day was full of design thinking, customer discovery, and building something from scratch with people who are just as passionate about solving real problems. 🛠️ My teammates brought so much to the table and it showed.

This is what the Michigan Ross MBA program does well. It doesn’t just teach you business concepts in isolation. It puts you in a room with brilliant people and makes you build, think, and collaborate under real pressure. 💡

More to come as the residency continues. Already can’t wait for day 2. 🚀

(This photo was taken after a few of my group members left. We forgot to take photos all day 🙈
