My first Mother’s Day without my Mom. Surprisingly I’m ok. Yesterday, not so much. There wasn’t anything significant or triggering about yesterday but that how grief shows up unannounced and unexpected.

I’ve come to realize that significant days and holidays don’t phase me as much as random days when I want to pick up the phone or walk through the door and say “Girl lemme tell you what happened!” those days hit the hardest.

I thank God for my support system whose compassion and consistency has carried me through some of my darkest days.

But today, today I’m good.
