Standing water and soggy ground? A French drain might be the answer.
It's not your average drain. A French drain wraps a perforated pipe in geotextile fabric that filters out sediment and keeps the system from clogging — so it drains better and lasts longer, protecting foundations, driveways, and retaining walls.
We put together a simple step-by-step guide on how a French drain works and the HDPE pipe that makes it reliable.

TDR Pipe delivers for the Needville High School Improvement Project — Needville, Texas.
We're proud to support the next chapter of Needville High School, one of Fort Bend County's most storied educational institutions, as it undergoes improvements to serve the next generation of Blue Jays.
TDR Pipe supplied 12" and 24" corrugated HDPE TDR Ultra pipe for the school's stormwater drainage system, ensuring that the campus is equipped with high-performance infrastructure built to handle Texas weather for decades to come.
A few things worth knowing about this great school:
- Needville High School was established in 1948 — its first senior class graduated in 1949
- Part of the Needville Independent School District
- Home of the Blue Jays, with school colors royal blue and white
- Located approximately 13 miles south of Rosenberg, off Highway 36 on Fritzella Street
Quality infrastructure is an investment in the community. We're honored to be a part of this one.

Where does the rain go on a busy city site? Underground. ⬇️
At the new Fingerboard Yeshiva & Dormitory in Staten Island, NY, TDR provided the 36" HDPE pipe for an underground stormwater system that stores 12,384 cubic feet of runoff beneath the site — 1,752 feet of pipe working out of sight to keep the property dry and meet New York City's stormwater rules.
No room for open ponds on a tight urban lot? No problem. Our corrugated HDPE pipe stores the water below grade, then releases it slowly and safely. 💪

15.7 million linear feet — and counting.
Since 2018, TDR ULTRA® corrugated HDPE pipe has been installed across Texas on projects that keep the state moving: Class A logistics parks, rail-served industrial hubs, distribution centers, school campuses, and state-level highway corridors like the $1.4B Loop 1604 expansion and the TxDOT Montana Avenue widening.
We put the full footprint in one place — 24 documented HDPE drainage projects, from El Paso to Baytown, Houston to Laredo, with material selection and installation aligned to applicable TxDOT drainage standards.
Available 4"–60" | AASHTO M294 | ASTM F2306 | watertight joints per ASTM D3212.

Big announcement — TDR ULTRA® is now TxDOT approved.
Our corrugated HDPE pipe has officially joined the Texas Department of Transportation's Material Producer List — cleared for storm sewer and culvert applications on public infrastructure projects statewide.
That means TDR Pipe now has TWO TxDOT-approved drainage products:
- TDR ULTRA® — Corrugated HDPE pipe
- TDR PRO® — Corrugated polypropylene pipe
Two materials. One trusted supplier. Zero compromises.
What does TxDOT approval mean?
It means our products passed the AASHTO/NTPEP evaluation process — the same rigorous standard used to qualify materials for Texas highways, culverts, and public stormwater infrastructure. It's not a rubber stamp. It's earned.
For engineers and contractors across Texas: both products are now ready to be specified on your next TxDOT project.

Laredo, Texas. Cross-border logistics. 61,200 feet of TDR PRO® pipe. Underground. Working.
Panattoni at Premier Industrial Park is positioned right between the World Trade Bridge and the Colombia Bridge — one of the busiest freight crossings in the country.
On a site like this, there's no room for surface flooding. Truck courts, dock aprons, and staging areas have to stay operational 24/7 — rain or shine.
Here's how TDR PRO® made it happen:
- 15" to 36" corrugated polypropylene pipe
- 61,200 linear feet of underground stormwater network
- Built to handle heavy truck loads, flat terrain, and concentrated runoff
- One of the largest single TDR PRO® installations to date
The freight doesn't stop. Neither does our drainage.

We don't have a stadium with our name on it.
But our pipe is part of the silent underground infrastructure across 180+ sports fields in the U.S.
🏈 Football fields. ⚽ Soccer stadiums. 🎓 School athletic complexes. 🎤 Concert venues.
Over 2 million feet of TDR HDPE corrugated pipe. Operational. Underground. Unbranded. Undisturbed.
No name on the wall. Just the pipe under the field.
New project spotlight: Whisper South Business Park, San Marcos, TX
A 45-acre industrial park on the I-35 corridor. 1,620 feet of TDR PRO® corrugated polypropylene pipe. And a storm drainage system built to take on anything Central Texas weather throws at it.
Here’s what made the difference on this project:
✅ 30–40% faster installation vs. rigid pipe
✅ 18” to 60” diameters for high peak-flow capacity
✅ Lightweight pipe = less equipment, more footage per day
The job stayed ahead of schedule — and the drainage system is built for decades of heavy industrial use.
