A year ago we left the United States. Houston, the practice, the life we'd built, all of it.

We were working too hard just to give our kids a decent childhood, and it was costing us our marriage.

Guatemala is where we landed. Our kids go to school with Guatemalan kids. Half our friends are Guatemalan, half are extranjeros. It's blended, not a bubble.

Finding that peace didn't happen by accident. It's the same nervous system work we do every session, learning to feel safe enough to actually be somewhere, in your body, in your life, in your community.

Fight or leave is a nervous system response, not a character flaw. A session works with the pattern itself, not just the story you tell about it.

We've got a bone to pick with "step into your masculine energy, step into your feminine energy." That language turns into shaming real quick, since we all carry both. Real healing isn't about becoming more of one or the other; it's learning to access whichever one a moment actually calls for. Tori and I hold these energies differently, and it's part of what makes this container work. (Also, it takes a moment, but Tye eventually gets a chance to talk.)

Once the fight is over, the guilt doesn't leave with it. It sits in the body long after the moment's passed, usually connected to something deeper and unspoken. That's what we work with here, releasing what got stuck instead of just talking around it.

You don't need to be a "retreat person" to come to the Cocoon. No spiritual requirements, no need to perform, no "look" expected.
