Through school-based programs and professional training, we work to ensure that children are respected, nurtured, and protected.

In addition, our programs promote healthy social and emotional development in all children and families. Our Strategy is to train individuals to deliver our solutions to children and youth of greater Houston and measurably influence their awareness, beliefs and attitudes. This promotes healthy decision-making skills which are proven to prevent risky behaviors and abuse.

✌ Let's Build Peace 🌍

Peace is not just the absence of conflict, it’s the act of "PeaceBuilding." This means building better situations for kindness, understanding, and respect. Today, as we observe International Day of Peace, ChildBuilders reaffirms to empower children to be peacebuilders in their own lives and communities. Because when children are safe, heard, and supported, they lay the foundation for a more peaceful tomorrow.
Together, we can build peace. 🛠

💭 Reflect, Repair, Renew 🌱

As our friends in the Jewish community observe Yom Kippur today, ChildBuilders is reminded that creating a better world begins with reflection. So let's take a moment to reflect, make amends, and care for one another. The spirit of "tikkun olam," or “repairing the world,” says that each of us has the opportunity to make a difference. At ChildBuilders, we believe that every act of compassion can make a difference. Every effort to support a child helps build safer, healthier communities. 🤲

🌅 May Yom Kippur be a time of reflection, renewal, and meaningful connection for us all!

💆‍♀️ Self-Care Isn't Selfish 🌿

September is National Self-Care Awareness Month, and ChildBuilders wants to remind you that taking care of yourself is an important part of taking care of those around you. For parents, caregivers, educators, and anyone supporting children, it can be easy to put everyone else's needs first. But constantly running on empty can leave us feeling overwhelmed and stressed.

Remember these affirmations:
😌 Self-care isn't selfish
😌 Rest isn't something you have to earn
😌 Taking care of yourself helps you show up for others

🤗 Grandparents Help Build The Future 🌸

This National Grandparents Day, let's honor the grandparents whose encouragement, love, and advocacy make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families. This year, ChildBuilders is proud to feature our own team member, Janet Pozmantier, whose dedication to children extends from her family to her work every day.

💬 Janet shares her thoughts on being a grandmother:
“Parenting is incredibly rewarding and incredibly hard. Many parents and children are struggling. As a grandparent, I feel now—more than ever—I must work every day to advocate for policies and practices that enhance children’s health, education, and emotional well-being. Through my involvement with ChildBuilders, I see these ideals come closer to reality. I hope you will join this grandma in supporting ChildBuilders in repairing the world.” 💜

🏆 Encourage Them! 👏

A little encouragement can make a big difference in developing a child’s confidence, resilience, and sense of safety. This National Encouragement Day, remind the children in your life that they are capable, valued, and never alone.

Try these 3 simple ways to encourage a child:
🌟 Encourage them to speak up, make safe choices, and share how they feel
🌟 Say “I’m proud of how hard you worked,” rather than focusing only on the outcome
🌟 Encourage problem-solving by giving them space to try things on their own before helping

At ChildBuilders, we help children build the confidence, emotional skills, and resilience they need to navigate life’s challenges. Because sometimes, a few encouraging words are the first step toward helping a child believe in themselves. 💯

🍯 A New Year, A Better World 🍎

This weekend, ChildBuilders is reflecting on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. One of the tenets of Judaism is "tikkun olam," a Hebrew phrase meaning “repairing the world.” We can all play a part in making the world a better place. Through compassion, kindness, and caring for one another, we can help build safer, healthier communities where children and families can thrive.

Let’s continue working together to create a better world—one child, one family, and one act of kindness at a time. Shana Tova! Wishing all who celebrate a sweet and meaningful New Year. ✨
