⚠️ Protect Your Pets Against the New World Screwworm ⚠️

Our veterinary team at Citizens for Animal Protection and The Cornelius Clinic is closely monitoring updates regarding New World Screwworm (NWS) and following recommendations from local, state, and federal agencies.

Recently, confirmed cases have been reported in South Texas and New Mexico. New World Screwworm is spread by flies that are attracted to open wounds and body openings of animals and can affect livestock, wildlife, pets, and even humans.

If your dog or cat has traveled or will be traveling to South Texas or anywhere along the U.S.-Mexico border, we recommend speaking with your veterinarian about approved flea and tick preventatives that may help protect against NWS.
