I offer Osteopathic manual therapy for kids and women, holistic bodywork
When you are in your follicular phase, high energy, sharing all your ideas and projects you have planned for both you, but also letting him know about the reality that once luteal phase hits I might just want to burn it all down. So please bear with me. đ
Shoutout to all the husbands who are trying to keep up (or are rather are taken along on the journey ) with their wife as she continues to learn her bodyâs natural biology and rhythms.
Is anyone elseâs hubby automatically enrolled into whatever you are currently learning and trying when it comes to health? đđ˝ââď¸
After all, he definitely needs it! đ
When mom brought her at that time one and a half months old baby girl, they both were struggling!
I noticed lots of tension throughout her body: in her pelvis and hips, both shoulders were shrugged up, neck felt compressed, hands fi**ed tightly, cranial strain, and she was uncomfortable lying on her back.
After our first session with gentle osteopathic techniques (in the Craniosacral, visceral, and musculoskeletal field) we were already seeing great improvements in her feeding, contentment, and overall body alignment.
Mom said: âYou changed my life!â
Happy baby - happy mama â¤ď¸
If you heard before âtheyâll grow out of itâ, or âthatâs normalâ, but you know something is going on with your child that you are not willing to except as ânormalâ, have you considered bodywork for your infant?
Their little body might be struggling from a tension from birth or the way they were lying in utero - keeping them in fight or flight mode. This can impact every function: from feeding, to pooping, sleeping, and overall wellbeing. But there is hope for change!
Reach out if youâre ready to explore holistic bodywork for your baby đ

We spend so much time asking:
Is this the right treatment?
Is this the right approach?
Is this what my child needs?
But maybe thereâs another question worth asking:
How does my child experience the person providing that care, would I enjoy it myself?
Because their nervous system is paying attention, too.
To the tone of voice.
The touch.
The patience.
The playfulness.
Whether someone connects with them before asking something of them.
Our children are not problems to manage or symptoms to correct.
They are human beings receiving care.
And no, that doesnât mean every appointment has to be fun or that necessary care will never feel uncomfortable.
It means our children can still be treated with dignity, kindness and respect through it all.
The treatment matters. But so does how they are treated.
Have you ever had a provider who made your child feel genuinely safe and cared for? What did they do differently? đ¤

We often think healing is about finding the right treatment, the right technique, the right practitioner.
And yesâthose things matter.
But this client reminded me that we donât receive care in isolation.
We receive it through someoneâs hands.
Their voice.
Their presence.
The pace of the room.
The way we are spoken to.
The way we are touched.
The way our body feels while weâre there.
Sometimes the question isnât only, âAm I receiving the right kind of care?â
Itâs also:
âHow do I feel while Iâm receiving it?â
Do I feel heard?
Do I feel rushed?
Can I soften here?
Do I feel genuinely cared for?
Skill matters. Technique matters.
But so does the human being delivering it.
And I think sometimes we underestimate just how much that matters. đ¤
Have you ever experienced someoneâs presence as part of the healing itself?

1. Water floss first
We start with a water flosser, flushing around the expander, along the molar bands, underneath the expander arms, and anywhere food tends to get trapped.
2. Brush thoroughly
Next, I brush his teeth with an electric toothbrush, or I have also used a small not electric toothbrush before, paying extra attention to the teeth and gumline around the appliance.
3. Inspect the expander
Then he lies on his back so I can actually see what Iâm doing. I use a dental mirror and dental explorer (got them both from Amazon) to carefully inspect around the molar bands, expander arms of the appliance for any trapped food i may have missed.
4. Brush again
I go back in with the electric toothbrush and water only, focusing on any areas that need a little more cleaning.
5. Turn the expander â when scheduled
I finish by turning the expansion screw with the key, according to our turning instructions.
It takes a little extra time, but expanders have so many small spaces where food and plaque can hide. But that final check with the mirror is probably the most important part of our routine because I can actually see what brushing and rinsing may have missed.
â¨Save this for your next expander-cleaning night, or send it to an expander parent. And tell me whatâs the hardest part of keeping your childâs expander clean? đđź
Apparently the only way my husband can get bodywork from his own wife⌠is to officially get on my schedule. đ
Because somehow itâs easier to make time for everyone elseâs family than your own.
The people we love have access to our skills 24/7, which somehow means they get them the least. đ
Fellow professionalsâhow do you make sure your own family actually benefits from what you do?
As I was expecting a dear client today for her fourth babyâs first treatment session, I felt like I should share one of my sourdough loaves I baked in the morning.
Then I remembered that I still had the yummy veggie soup in the freezer for the case if someone doesnât feel well I could thaw it out. Then I remembered her older three children, who are all five and under, and that they might enjoy the bow tie pasta with chicken.
Especially since mom just became a single mother of four, I thought a meal she doesnât need to prepare could be sweet relief at least that one time.
Can I say mom was delighted not only to see her baby relax during her treatment, but also to receive a goodie bag of food! â¨
Letâs remember the mama when we âgo see the babyâ too. Everyone loves good nourishing food! Especially that postpartum time is crucial!
Instead of another onesie, could a
â¨frozen meal (chicken pie, lasagna, soup)
â¨easy protein snacks (protein muffins, beef sticks, egg bites, mixed nuts/dates/chickpeas)
â¨fresh foods (fruits, cheese cubes, veggies &hummus, Greek yogurt parfait)
â¨homemade staples (bread, broth, muffins, granola, overnight oats, chia pudding jars)
â¨nourishing extras ( electrolyte packs, herbal teas, honey, raw milk, grass-fed butter, avocados)
⌠put an even bigger smile on your friends face? đŹ
Just a simple gesture that says âI thought of you, tooâ.

When my husband was away for Army duty for three weeks, I expected to feel overwhelmed.
Instead, I learned something about nervous system regulation.
It wasnât because life became easier.
It was because we had prepared ahead. Fewer decisions. More predictability. Less unnecessary stress.
Oftentimes nervous system regulation isnât another technique.
Sometimes itâs creating routines, planning ahead, and building a life that gives your nervous system more room to breathe.
With back-to-school around the corner, ask yourself:
What can I prepare ahead that will make the next weeks feel lighter?
đ Save this for back-to-school planning and share it with another mom who needs the reminder.
Last night we decided spontaneously to drive to the beach. Just my husband & I.
We walked barefoot in the sand along the water, held hands, watched the sunset, laughed, and talked about the things that matter most to us.
Grabbed dinner and drove back home.
It was so simple, fun, nourishing to the soul, and healing to the body.â¤ď¸
I donât only want the physical aspect of being âwell regulatedâ. I want it ALL! Spirit, soul & body.
What we actually want when we say âI want a regulated nervous systemâ is this: âI want:
* Peace
* Wholeness
* Rest
* Security
* Steadfastness
* Soundness
* Self-control
* Being established
* Abiding
* Trust
* Being made whole
It is not about calming your breath or controlling your emotions, but rather genuinely being able to function, live and enjoy life in a way you were designed for.
When we do that, a regulated nervous system is the byproduct of that.
The tools we use to âregulateâ should help us to get back to that original state we were created by God for.
