💚Hispanic Heritage Month has welcomed eight, 20-foot sculptures to Discovery Green. These art pieces depict spirit guides from Mexican culture and Mesoamerican folkore and made by Oaxacan artists. Visitors to the area may discover examples of the art located with our nearby neighbors.

📖Writers in the Schools (WITS) returns for another session of creative writing with writer Sarah Hill. Together, attendees will have the chance to discover a new side to their creativity and a chance to unplug. Participants will also go home with a book donated by the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation.

Or purchase an entrée at MKT Bar inside Phoenicia and receive a free hummus appetizer. Phoenicia Foods is located at 1001 Austin across from Discovery Green.

🇲🇽Houston, this Saturday celebrate a rich culture with México en el Corazón at Discovery Green!

🪅The night is filled with vibrant colors, heartfelt music, traditional dances and delicious food. Enjoy an international touring group of over 60 performers showcasing their beautiful talents and celebrating their homeland. Visitors can also shop from a variety of Latin-owned small businesses or Latin products. Or discover the eight 20-foot sculptures across the park depicting alebrijes y nahuales.

🤟Due to the amazing audience turn out, only the first 1,700 attendees will obtain a wristband to sit on the hill in the front of the stage. Your RSVP does not secure you a wristband. Please make plans to arrive early. Wristbands will be handed out starting at 5:30 pm. Additional seating will be provided on the Jones Lawn with a jumbo screen for viewing.

🪅 La noche estará llena de colores vibrantes, música emotiva, danzas tradicionales y deliciosa comida. Disfruta de un grupo internacional de más de 60 artistas que presentarán sus hermosos talentos y celebrarán su herencia. Visitantes también podrán comprar productos en un mercado de una variedad de pequeños negocios latinos o descubrir productos latinos. ✨Cure for Paranoia takes to the stage with Jumprope and DJ Bloom! Enjoy a mix of amazing artists from across Texas in a medley of alternative hip-hop, garage-pop and dance. Invite your friends and family for a FREE concert in the center of downtown Houston. Pop up lawn chairs and picnics for an evening of amazing talent, music and vibes.

✨Inspired by Fantastic Animals from Mexico: Alebrijes and Nahuales, eight 20-foot-tall sculptures depicting fantastic creatures from the realm of the spirits, three of Houston's restaurants will serve specially made cocktails for a limited time only.

🍷Visit Xochi or Zaranda and taste The Happy Alien, created by Xochi bartender April Zelaya. A blood orange liqueur, Amaras mezcal, pomegranate juice, simple syrup, fresh lime juice and Scrappy fire bitters. When you purchase a cocktail at Xochi $1 is donated to Discovery Green.

☀️It's the last weekend for bumper boats and cruiser boats on Kinder Lake. The boats will take a short break starting Monday, September 7 , but will return with the Houston Pumpkin Festival on September 19.

🇲🇽During Hispanic Heritage Month enter the spirit realm through Mexican magical realism and Mesoamerican folklore! Eight, 20-foot statues will be scattered across the park depicting beautifully vibrant alebrijes and nahaules.
