Cold and flu season can make its way through a family fast.
Vaccines can help protect you and your loved ones from getting very sick from illnesses like flu, RSV, and COVID-19. They can be especially important for young children, older adults, and people with health problems.
Not sure which vaccines your family may need? Ask your doctor. They can help you know what is right for your age, health, and needs.

Now that kids are back in class, asthma triggers can show up in new places, like the classroom, gym, bus, playground, or after-school activities.
If your child has asthma, check in with their doctor and school to make sure the plan is clear. The school should know your child’s triggers, symptoms, medicine needs, and who to call in an emergency.
Your child should also know when to ask for help if breathing feels hard.

Business Women’s Day is a time to recognize the women who lead, work hard, care for their families, and help their communities grow.
From small business owners to team leaders, caregivers, teachers, health workers, and every woman building something better, your work matters.
It is also a reminder that taking care of yourself belongs on the list too. Your health, rest, and support are just as important as the work you do for others.
Thank you to the women in our Community who keep showing up, leading with care, and making a difference.

A fall can happen during everyday moments, like getting out of bed, walking to the bathroom, or carrying groceries into the house.
Falls Prevention Awareness Day is a reminder that simple changes can help older adults and loved ones stay safer at home and in the community.
A few things that can help:
> Keep walkways clear.
> Use night lights in halls and bathrooms.
> Wear shoes that fit well and have good grip.
> Ask your doctor if medicine may make you dizzy.

End-of-summer plans can still bring hot cars, strong sun, and heat that wears your family down fast.
Before you head out, keep these safety reminders in mind:
> Check the back seat before you lock the car.
> Never leave a child alone in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
> Use sunblock with SPF 15 or higher before going outside.
> Reapply sunblock after swimming, sweating, or being outside for more than 2 hours.
> Drink water often and take breaks in the shade.
Heat stroke is an emergency. If someone seems confused, faints, vomits, has very hot skin, or acts different than usual, call 911 right away. Move them to a cooler place while you wait for help.

When family, work, and daily life need your attention, it can be easy to put yourself last, but the people who count on you need you to have support, too.
Getting care, asking for help, or taking time to rest is not selfish. It helps you keep showing up for the people you love.

Forgetting a name or misplacing keys can happen to anyone. But memory changes that make daily life harder are worth talking about.
World Alzheimer’s Day is a reminder to support families, caregivers, and loved ones living with memory loss.
If you notice changes in memory, mood, confusion, or trouble doing familiar tasks, talk with a doctor. Not every change means Alzheimer’s, but asking questions can help your family know what to do next.
