In 1985, Rice scientists inside a lab in the Space Science and Technology Building made a discovery that changed the landscape of nanotechnology — a stable hollow carbon structure named C60. Rice graduate lands coveted role driving Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Taylor Schultz, who graduated this spring with a degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering and served as president of Duncan College, was selected as one of just 12 recent graduates nationwide to become an official Oscar Mayer “Hotdogger.”
