Before the legendary Nikon F, there was the SP.

Introduced in 1957, the Nikon SP was Nikon’s flagship professional rangefinder and one of the most advanced 35mm cameras of its era. Its dual-viewfinder system covered an impressive six focal lengths from 28mm to 135mm, and it became the first rangefinder camera capable of motorized film advance.

Its design would become the foundation for the Nikon F—the SLR that helped establish Nikon as a dominant name in professional photography.
