5 things worth your money as a runner

You don’t need more gear. You need the right things that help you keep showing up.

What would you add?

09/18/2026

What do you do when you know you're not at your best?

You show up anyway.

The IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship wasn't the race I had hoped for. Things didn't go as planned, and I knew I wasn't coming in at 100%.

But the goal was never to have a perfect race. It was to show up, do what I could, and see where that took me.

Sometimes that's enough.

Not every finish has to be your best finish. 💪

The 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France, wasn’t my best performance.

Not every race goes the way you hope. What matters is showing up, giving what you have, and being grateful for the opportunity to race on a world championship stage.

Thank you to everyone who supported me, followed the journey, and sent messages along the way.

And most especially, thank you to my wife, Andrea, for always being by my side through the training, the travel, the hard days, and everything in between. I couldn’t do this without you.

Grateful for the experience. On to the next one. 💪

Getting the final sessions in, exploring the course, and honestly just enjoying the experience. It’s exciting to see everything come together after all the months of preparation.

Almost race day!

Another important part of race week: packing everything you need and making sure nothing gets left behind.

Bike, gear, nutrition, race essentials... I think we’re ready for IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship!

One of the most important things during race week is being organized.

And of course, making sure the bike is ready. 🚲

This one has been part of a lot of training, and now it’s time to bring it to Nice.

See you at the start line of IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship!

I finished Habanero 135 in 39 hours and 42 minutes.

It was hotter, harder, and more humbling than I expected. The original plan disappeared early, and the race became a lesson in discomfort, patience, support, and finding the next useful decision.

This one reminded me that sustained performance is not about pretending it is easy. It is about building the mindset, habits, people, and systems that help you keep moving when the conditions change.

Trail Racing Over Texas

Habanero 135 was brutal.

Hot. Long. Sandy. And a lot harder than it looks.

7th overall. 6th male. 1st in Masters.

I’m proud of how I managed the race and kept moving, especially when things got really tough. But I couldn’t have done it without my crew, pacers, family, friends, and everyone who supported me along the way.

When you’re that far into a race, you realize how much you rely on the people around you. Every bit of support matters.

Brutal from start to finish, but I’m proud of this one. 💪

One of my favorite race essentials is my ForeverTri shirt.

Made this one for this year’s Habanero 135 Trail Racing Over Texas and getting it ready for race day. After all the training and preparation, it’s almost time to put in the miles.

See you tomorrow. Let’s see what we’ve got. 💪
