Recycle Livingston

A forest. A bake sale. A handful of people who refused to give up on a place they loved.

Almost 75 years ago, a small group of citizens pooled their bake sale earnings and life insurance policies to save a 60-acre forest in New York. Today, The Nature Conservancy works in 83 countries and territories, and we've helped protect more than 125 million acres of land and 2.3 billion acres of ocean.

But this story isn't finished. Climate change and biodiversity loss are reshaping our world, and the need for action has never been greater. Much will change over the next 75 years, but one thing will remain the same: lasting conservation is built through people, partnerships and a shared commitment to the world that sustains us.

Wednesday, September 30, Recycle Livingston will be open from 10 until 4:30. While it is the 5th Wednesday of the month and we are only open on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month due to a shortage of volunteers and staff, our wonderful volunteers agreed to open on this exception to our schedule due to so many site days closed during September. Please thank them as you come to volunteer. It is hard work to keep the site open.
