🐻🥾 Six Bears Finish Strong! 🥾🐻

Today our Six Bears packed their Cub Scout 6 Essentials, hit the trail, and successfully completed their final belt loop requirement of the year!

This hike marked more than just the end of another adventure—it was the completion of their Bear rank journey. These Scouts have spent the year learning new skills, serving others, exploring the outdoors, and growing in confidence and character.

As they move forward, they will soon trade in the blue uniform shirt of the younger Cub Scout ranks and begin the next stage of their Scouting adventure as Webelos Scouts. From there, they’ll continue on to Arrow of Light, the highest rank in Cub Scouting, before eventually crossing over into a Scouts BSA troop.

We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished this year and can’t wait to see where the trail leads them next. Congratulations, Bears—your next adventure awaits! 🐾⛺🌲

Today, Cub Scout Pack 258 was proud to participate in the Farmingdale Memorial Day Parade as we honored the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a parade or a long weekend — it is a day of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. Through traditions like community parades, flags, music, and moments of reflection, we teach our Scouts the importance of honoring our fallen heroes and remembering the cost of freedom.

As Abraham Lincoln said, we remember those who gave “the last full measure of devotion.”

Thank you to the Farmingdale community for allowing our Scouts to be part of this meaningful tradition. 🇺🇸

Yesterday, Cub Scout Pack 258 had the honor of partnering with Scouting America Troop 300 and the Girl Scouts to place flags at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

As Memorial Day approaches, we are reminded that freedom is never free. The sacrifices made by our military members and their families deserve not only our gratitude, but our continued remembrance and respect.

Originally known as “Decoration Day,” this tradition began after the Civil War as a way to honor fallen soldiers by decorating their graves with flowers and flags. President Abraham Lincoln’s words at Gettysburg still resonate today:

“That we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain.”

We are proud of our Scouts for taking part in this meaningful act of service and remembrance. 🇺🇸
