I don't think most small businesses fail at marketing because they picked the wrong platform.
I think they fail because they keep switching.
New platform. New posting schedule. New content style. A new idea every few weeks, each one abandoned right before it had a chance to work.
Consistency isn't exciting.
It doesn't give you a rush the way a fresh idea does. But in a small industry where people talk, remember, and buy from names they already know, showing up the same way week after week is how you earn trust.
Pick one place. Pick one rhythm you can actually keep. Then keep it longer than feels interesting.
The businesses people trust aren't the ones that tried everything. They're the ones that stayed.

The last twelve weeks of the year aren't the leftovers.
But a lot of us treat them that way in business.
Whatever's left of our energy.
Whatever's left of the budget.
Whatever's left of the plan we were so excited about in January.
Jesus told a story about a master who handed three servants different amounts before he left on a trip. Two of them went to work with what they had. The third dug a hole and buried his.
He wasn't lazy. He was afraid. He told the master exactly that.
That's the part of the story that gets me. Fear rarely looks like quitting. It looks like playing it safe and calling it wisdom.
Maybe there's something buried in your business right now. The offer you never launched. The email you wrote and never sent. The idea you keep pushing to "after the new year."
You don't need the whole year back to be faithful with what you have.
Twelve weeks is plenty of room to plant something.
Steward the season you're in, not the one you wish you'd had.
Black Friday marketing plan for small business owners: here's how to get ready in 57 days 👇
Today is the first day of Q4, and Black Friday is 57 days away. If your holiday marketing strategy is still "I'll figure it out later," this carousel is for you.
Most small businesses handle Black Friday sales in one of two ways. They throw together a last-minute discount and a rushed email, or they skip it entirely. Both leave money on the table during the biggest shopping weekend of the year. Last year, more than 197 million people shopped from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday and spent over $40 billion in five days.
The fix is to treat Black Friday like a real product launch, with a plan built before Thanksgiving week.
That's why I created The Black Friday Sprint. It's 7 short videos and 7 worksheets that walk you through:
✔️ Choosing a Black Friday offer that protects your margins
✔️ A re-engagement email sequence to warm up your list before you pitch
✔️ Partnering with another small business to grow both your email lists
✔️ Batching your social media content calendar with AI
✔️ Giving Tuesday and post-sale follow-up
✔️ Bonus: Black Friday Facebook and Instagram ads with Lindsey Rains
It works for product-based and service-based businesses, including equine businesses, coaches, and local shops. It's $27, and you can start today.
💬 Comment SPRINT and I'll DM you the link.
📌 Save this so you have your Black Friday prep checklist handy.

5 Reasons Email Marketing Still Wins (And Always Will)
Everyone's chasing the algorithm. Meanwhile, the smartest brands are quietly building the one channel nobody can take away from them. Here's why email isn't old news — it's the foundation everything else should be built on.
1. You don't own your audience on social. You rent it.
Every platform you post on can change the rules overnight; the algorithm shifts, reach tanks, an account gets suspended for no clear reason, and years of built audience disappear with it. Your email list doesn't work that way. Every subscriber on it is yours. No algorithm decides whether they see your message. No platform can take that relationship away from you.
2. It's still the highest return on investment in marketing, period
Dollar for dollar, nothing outperforms email. Not paid ads, not influencer partnerships, not organic social. The reason is simple: you're not paying to interrupt a stranger's scroll. You're speaking directly to someone who already raised their hand and said I want to hear from you.
3. It turns one-time buyers into repeat customers
A sale isn't the finish line; it's the starting line of a relationship. Without email, most businesses are stuck constantly chasing brand-new customers because they have no consistent way to bring past customers back. With the right email strategy — welcome sequences, post-purchase follow-ups, win-back campaigns- you're not just making a sale. You're building a system that keeps customers coming back without you lifting a finger every time.
Acquiring a new customer is expensive. Reminding an existing one why they love you is nearly free.
4. It builds trust at scale, in your own voice
Social media rewards performance. Email rewards honesty. It's the one channel where you can talk directly to your audience — tell your story, explain your why, walk them through a launch — without fighting for attention in a feed full of everyone else's noise. Done right, it doesn't feel like marketing. It feels like a relationship.
That trust compounds. The audience that trusts your emails today is the audience that buys without hesitation tomorrow.
5. It's measurable in a way that keeps you honest
You don't have to guess whether email is working. Open rates, click rates, conversion data; it's all right there, telling you exactly what resonated and what didn't. No vanity metrics, no algorithm masking your real reach. Just clear data you can act on.
That kind of clarity is rare in marketing. Most channels ask you to have faith. Email asks you to look at the numbers.
Every other channel is borrowed attention. Email is an owned relationship.
If you're building a business and treating email as an afterthought, you're leaving your most reliable, most profitable channel sitting untouched — while chasing algorithms that were never built to work in your favor in the first place.
The businesses that last aren't the loudest on social. They're the ones who built something nobody can take away.

Real talk. You are not behind because you haven't figured out AI yet. You're behind because nobody has explained it to you in a way that actually makes sense.
That's exactly why I built this mini-course. No cringe. No robotic content. Just practical do's and don'ts so you can use AI like the secret weapon it's meant to be, not the intimidating mystery it feels like right now.
$27 gets you the course plus five prompt swipe files with over 125 ready-to-copy-and-paste prompts. Grab it. Your future evenings will thank you.

Here's what nobody tells you about running a small business. You weren't supposed to be the marketing team, the admin, the customer service rep, and the one doing the actual work, all at once.
AI can take a real chunk of that off your plate, but only if you know how to use it without it sounding robotic or getting your brand into trouble.
Inside the AI Mini-Course, you'll learn what AI can do for your business, how to prompt it so it sounds like you and not a machine, what mistakes to avoid, and you'll walk away with my favorite copy-and-paste prompts.
$27. One small investment that hands you back your evenings.
