We were humbled to be recognized as one of Framingham Public Schools’ honorees for the “Community Partner Appreciation Award” for this school year. They shared that the MetroWest Food Collaborative was chosen for intentionally partnering with the district to combat food insecurity for students and families through coordination of food related services through the city of Framingham, and the larger MetroWest Community. It was also fitting to be receiving this award alongside many of the other organizations who provide the food to our community: Greater Framingham Community Church, United Way of Tri-County, A Place to Turn, Daniel’s Table and the MetroWest YMCA.

📣Yup
It’s back! SUN Bucks provides $120 in extra grocery benefits for each eligible child in our community.

Many eligible children are automatically enrolled in SUN Bucks through other programs they already participate in.

But, some eligible families will need to apply. Help spread the word to let families know that it’s easy to apply at DTAConnect.com/SUNBucks

———————————————————————-

No entanto, algumas famílias elegíveis precisarão fazer a solicitação. Ajude a divulgar a informação para que as famílias saibam que é fåcil solicitar o benefício em DTAConnect.com/SUNBucks.

📣As food insecurity has increased, access to SNAP has decreased. In the past year, the SNAP caseload has dropped by 80,000 households in large part because recipients can’t get in touch with DTA. In March, 81% of calls to DTA were disconnected due to high call volume, meaning the vast majority of SNAP recipients have no way of speaking to a caseworker.

‌This is unacceptable - we need the state to infuse DTA with funding for more case workers.

🔔Please join us in urging your State Senator to include a $7 million increase for more DTA staff in the FY27 state budget.
